05/03/2026: I don't usually leave reviews for restaurants because I prefer to discuss them in person with the owners (as I did with Andrea), but reading some of the reviews of this little restaurant, I can't see so much nastiness in people who don't realize that with their comments, which I think are overly nasty, they risk ruining this little new establishment!
So, let me tell you about my experience...
I had dinner with my partner on February 14th (not even realizing it was Valentine's Day when we booked). We came here on the recommendation of friends and my parents who had been before us, and everyone was thrilled!
We had a wonderful time. It's a small, family-run mountain restaurant, so 3 appetizers, 3 first courses, and 3 second courses seems like a more than excellent deal for a mountain restaurant! If you're not used to this, it's better to eat at large restaurants where they host special events. Rest assured, you'll find at least 10 specials for each course... and the quality isn't even guaranteed! But... is it so hard to choose between 9 options, including both meat-based and vegetarian options?!?!
On the other hand, my partner and I found the dishes truly tasty, well-balanced, and perfectly portioned. The steak was cooked rare (as I requested) to perfection! The meat was tender and juicy, the side dishes wonderful. The frico my partner had and the accompanying vegetables were a delight. For starters, I had the pumpkin cake, which was perfectly balanced by the cheese fondue on top. The carne salada my partner had was incredibly fresh and perfect with the accompanying salad.
The place is small, with just a few tables, but that makes it even more cozy and intimate!
Even though it was busy, the chatter of the people sitting at the neighboring tables wasn't a nuisance. We quickly found parking right in front of the front door (there's room for at least four cars), or across the street there's a large parking lot at the Hotel Corona where you can park easily.
The waiter who served us was extremely kind throughout the dinner, making sure we enjoyed it. And, as an extra treat, they were very kind to give red roses to all the women in the restaurant for Valentine's Day.
What can I say... it was an excellent experience for us, we were truly happy, and when we return to Zoldo, we'll definitely eat here again!! As I said before, if you're not used to enjoying a dinner like this, eating a few simple but authentic dishes in a small mountain village, it's best to choose something else and not constantly complain about everything, especially on social media, trying to undermine a small, but truly worthy, place!
12/02/2026: A special place, it's nice that there are still some like it in the mountains. The food is delicious, with a certain refinement in the ingredients and recipes.
The place is small but perfectly in keeping with the mountain setting.
The owner is truly welcoming, authentic, and helpful. We'll be back!
