The rooms were very clean. The staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was superb: varied and tasty. Old Town was just a short 5 minute walk away. While this may not suit everyone, we loved having a peaceful location away from the hectic tourist-filled bustle of the Old Town. The Grottoes of Catullo are also literally on the other side of the street. Hotel Ideal's own private beach was a cherry on top since the public beaches were extremely crowded. If you want a peaceful retreat right on the doorstep of the Old Town, Hotel Ideal is an excellent choice.

We stayed for two nights last weekend in a room with a stunning lake view and a completely peaceful pool. Thanks to the management for allowing us to use the pool throughout our departure day.

(4-night stay with a child) Very, very good hotel, but mixed reviews. The hotel is great, very well located, absolutely clean, pleasant, very well maintained, superb decor, the rooms are renovated, air-conditioned, and the staff is generally very friendly. I think we had one of the two best rooms in the hotel in terms of the view, both of the lake and the ruins, fantastic! >>We had a difficult arrival after a 950 km drive: "pedestrian day" in the city (the hotel managed the ZTL very well for us) (ZTL is closed to traffic between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for "pedestrian days"), we had to wait until 8 p.m. to enter the ZTL, crossing the island with pedestrians who didn't want to give way, the person at reception that evening didn't explain anything to us, no introduction to the hotel, no restaurant hours (morning/lunch/evening), we didn't get the right person, he wasn't representative of the staff. The room is very good, but suffers from the hotel's old design: rather small shower, noisy air conditioning, no air conditioning in the bathroom, no coffee or tea making facilities, very hard bedding, no privacy on the 3rd-floor balcony (no privacy screen, worse, a simple gate that can be opened for fire safety reasons). The room is clearly not worth the 4-star rating compared to the 4-star hotels I've stayed in recently (and the ultimate design flaw: be careful not to lock yourself out on the balcony!!!!!!!!). The hotel overall, yes, because it feels good, the restaurant is good, the staff is very friendly, and most of them speak English (special mention to the young man at reception who speaks very good French!). Overall, I recommend this hotel, and I would happily return. I'd like to emphasize the quality of the staff, who smoothed out the minor negatives :) (Thank you to the kind lady who served me the multiple double espressos in the morning :) )

A fantastic, secluded place with private access to the lake. Clean rooms, each with a beautiful view. Delicious food. The staff is friendly and helpful. Peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxation. I highly recommend it!

We had a beautiful spritz here after a long walk to Jamaica Beach. The views are fantastic and service was very friendly. Nice and quiet too.

Amazing experience in Sirmione at Hotel Ideal! I am so grateful we find a room and stayed there! The location is exceptional, the room price was very competitive. We opted for the breakfast included option and the breakfast was also incredible! (See pic) A special mention to the gentlemen at the reception, Simone: he made our visit so much more rewarding and enjoyable by sharing information about the area, where to eat in town, and what activities to do. The hotel is located in a scenic spot near the Grottoes of Catullus and the historic center. Clean and welcoming, the staff are extremely kind and helpful. Simone is impeccable; he even solved a problem we had with our car. A great weekend, highly recommended!

Me and my wife and two kids stayed at this lovely hotel just sitting at the north end of Sirmione. It is situated just north of the old town so getting there by car means driving through narrow passage ways at walking speed but it is honestly not difficult other managing space and maybe timing it with the delivery trucks that also convoy in and out of town. We had a lovely stay and Sebastiano/Simone assisted us with the booking over email correspondence and on arrival, after the heart arrest car convoy through town, we had plenty of parking space available at the premises. What was best with the stay? First and foremost - location. This is just awesome. I would also say the cleanliness and spotless rooms. Efficient cleaning lady that got the job done. What a hero she must be that just manages to get all the spots (which all mediterranean hotels misses) to be shiny. You will almost always find lime deposit in the shower and dust, but this hotel is just....clean. Second - the guys at the reception were just awesome getting us around town in terms of restaurants and sorting out booking tables etc, thirdly, the pool and private beach area are nicely set up with plenty of areas getting shade from the olive trees. We were happy with these two nights and a generous breakfast. Thank you. /Anders&Alexandra
