Ristorante Osteria Accademia degli Affidati In San miniato

Passing through the little town of San Miniato, we stopped for lunch at Trattoria Canapone. We were greeted warmly by the manager and server. We sat outside to dine. My husband and I shared the melon and prosciutto to start. The melon was a canary melon, so sweet. I love the sweetness of the melon against the saltiness of the prosciutto. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara and hubby had the Tortelloni Bolognese for lunch. Both dishes were delicious. Hubby’s actually was amazing! I’m glad we stumbled upon this restaurant. Molto Buona!

Welcoming restaurant, very friendly staff, a waitress with a good sense of humor, even a witty one, always ready, and the owner (cook with his wife) is very friendly and approachable. The truffle crostini were excellent, as were the first courses. Then we moved straight on to dessert, and that too met our expectations.

I visited this place in late September 2025. Excellent selection of traditional Tuscan food. I had the pleasure of enjoying a plate of fresh battered fried porcini mushrooms and an excellent tiramisu. The place is a bit small but very welcoming, with wooden tables and chairs. The €2 cover charge includes a tablecloth, cloth napkins, and bread. The restrooms are clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We were on holiday in San Miniato, we found this trattoria by chance, excellent food, the waiter Francesco welcoming, friendly and helpful, we have returned and will return, recommended.

Very good restaurant - lots of porcini and truffle-based dishes. The food was good and the service was excellent - it was just very hot.

I haven't tried the other restaurants in San Miniato, but as a waiter, I can say that the prices are absolutely fair for the quality of the food. Generous portions, simple cuisine, and the owner and waiter are phenomenal. Their friendliness and smiles put you at ease right away. They even offered us a complimentary amaro, which is always a welcome addition.

The tagliolini with white truffle were delicious. They tried to cram too many tables into a small space, and it was practically a huge table. You may like it or not. The menu rating is more than adequate, but the ordering process needs rethinking. You can't wait 50 minutes for a plate of cold cuts. The table next door (right next door), who arrived two minutes before us, were waiting for dessert, while we were still waiting for our appetizer. We deliberately didn't bother anyone because I wanted to see how long they'd go. The waitress and the owner walked past us forty times, but they never noticed that while everyone else was eating, we only had water and wine on the table, and, I repeat, the room is very small. When we pointed this out to the owner at the end of the meal, fortunately he didn't make any strange remarks, but once he realized it, he tried to "make up for it" by offering dessert.

Lovely place, arrived by chance, the food was delicious, plentiful and not too expensive. Highly recommended the tortelloni with truffle
