A lovely historical restaurant with amazing service and traditional dishes and wines. It is a family business and the owner was very kind and friendly. We were given a traditional dessert for free, as well as some bread selection in the beginning. Overall - a lovely experience and would definitely recommend!

A culinary experience that deserves the best! We were in Mantua for a weekend and chose to dine at this restaurant, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere is refined, elegant, and welcoming, perfect for a special evening. The service was impeccable. The staff is attentive, professional, and available to answer any questions, without ever being intrusive. They expertly guided us through our selection of dishes and wine. And the food... simply exceptional! We started with delicious appetizers, which paved the way for unforgettable main courses. The stew with polenta was so tender it melted in your mouth, a true traditional masterpiece. The rabbit with herbs was also exquisite, delicate, and perfectly flavorful, while the tagliata was perfectly cooked and of the highest quality. All this was accompanied by an excellent wine, expertly recommended, which enhanced the flavors of each course. "La Cucina di Mantova" isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy the authentic flavors of Mantua in a high-quality setting. We'll definitely be back.

We went for dinner on a Tuesday afternoon. The place was empty, so I can't comment on the speed of the kitchen under normal circumstances. Regardless, the food was impressive. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the man who appeared to be the owner/manager was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely return next time we visit Mantua.

Great experience! A bit of a wait for the food to arrive. The bathroom is a bit difficult to reach as you have to go down a very narrow and small spiral staircase. Otherwise, great atmosphere!

Cena del 26 aprile con la moglie. Selezione di salumi mantovani, culatta di Busseto con giardiniera, bigoli al torchio, agnoli mantovani burro e salvia, un dolce locale-Helvezia. Tutto eccellente, sia la materia prima sia la preparazione delle portate. Locale caratteristico, servizio perfetto. Complimenti, suggerisco di prenotare.

Intimate place, very friendly staff and excellent food

Il locale è molto accogliente, con le travi di legno al soffitto e un bel lampadario (il nostro tavolo si trovava nella stanza a destra rispetto all'ingresso). Il menu propone principalmente (ma non solo) cucina mantovana. Le pietanze in generale hanno soddisfatto tutti (io ho qualche riserva sui fiori di zucchine ripieni di ricotta, a mio parere un po' troppo fritti). In compenso mi sono piaciuti molto i maccheroncini conditi con lo stracotto di manzo. Belli e buoni i dolci (ho assaggiato l'Elvezia, dolce elaborato che non conoscevo). Servizio cordiale. Unica vera pecca: il tempo di attesa tra una portata e l'altra.
