A lovely historical restaurant with amazing service and traditional dishes and wines. It is a family business and the owner was very kind and friendly. We were given a traditional dessert for free, as well as some bread selection in the beginning. Overall - a lovely experience and would definitely recommend!

A culinary experience that deserves the best! We were in Mantua for a weekend and chose to dine at this restaurant, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere is refined, elegant, and welcoming, perfect for a special evening. The service was impeccable. The staff is attentive, professional, and available to answer any questions, without ever being intrusive. They expertly guided us through our selection of dishes and wine. And the food... simply exceptional! We started with delicious appetizers, which paved the way for unforgettable main courses. The stew with polenta was so tender it melted in your mouth, a true traditional masterpiece. The rabbit with herbs was also exquisite, delicate, and perfectly flavorful, while the tagliata was perfectly cooked and of the highest quality. All this was accompanied by an excellent wine, expertly recommended, which enhanced the flavors of each course. "La Cucina di Mantova" isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy the authentic flavors of Mantua in a high-quality setting. We'll definitely be back.

We went for dinner on a Tuesday afternoon. The place was empty, so I can't comment on the speed of the kitchen under normal circumstances. Regardless, the food was impressive. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the man who appeared to be the owner/manager was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely return next time we visit Mantua.

Great experience! A bit of a wait for the food to arrive. The bathroom is a bit difficult to reach as you have to go down a very narrow and small spiral staircase. Otherwise, great atmosphere!

16/03/2025: Trattoria adatta per una serata tranquilla e informale a Lagusello. Si entra dal bar poi ci sono 3 ambienti. Abbiamo mangiato capunsei e bigoli al germano + polenta ai formaggi. Piatti abbondanti e ben conditi.
01/03/2025: Castellaro Lagusello é tra i Borghi più belli a due schioppi dal Garda e quando ci vai devi fermarti alla Pesa. Antica trattoria di Diego, titolare nonché cantante, uno dei suoi pezzi te lo becchi senza scampo, a noi é toccato De Gregori. Antipasto di affettato, Lunette alla zucca e Grigliata, tutto uno da dividere per due, accompagnato da ottimi calici di Valpolicella e naturalmente Acqua. Conto 45€. 08/12/2025: An excellent lunch in the center of Mantua, in a spacious and well-organized restaurant (five rooms inside). We savored both baked goods like breadsticks and taralli, as well as other dishes on the menu, such as pumpkin with rosemary and shallots (absolutely delicious!) and the sublime risotto alla mantovana! The prices are high, but we ate so well that we were happy to spend them! The only downside is the bathroom (which is why I can't give the restaurant a full 5 stars): as soon as you go down the stairs, you can smell bad odors (the stairs adjoin the kitchen), and the women's section is quite unfortunate, but never mind. Scaravelli also has a café, pastry shop, ice cream parlor, and bakery under the arcades of Piazza delle Erbe, offering unique and inviting treats, both sweet and savory!
21/11/2025: Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Mantua! Beautiful and sophisticated location. The staff is extremely welcoming and kind, not to mention the truly delicious food! Congratulations!
