Essential with delicious Paduan food

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very unique. It was even pleasant to eat in the soft, candlelit atmosphere. We chose two appetizers (a trio of fish, artichoke carpaccio, late Trevigiana cheese, truffle oil, aged Asiago cheese, and toasted seeds) to share, a first course, and two second courses (pasta with beans, cuttlefish with polenta, and pork cheek braised in red wine with polenta). We washed it all down with a bottle of Valpolicella. To finish, we had a tiramisu and a chestnut tart. We paid €44 each. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

Good place for dinner, although a bit more expensive than expected. However, it's a very good place and you'll leave happy.

A true osteria in the city center. I'd call it an osteria with ancient flavors because when you walk through the front door on Via Santa Sofia, you feel like you've stepped back in time. The place and the decor are old-fashioned, rustic, retro, and it needs to be and stay that way otherwise it would lose its charm. The red walls, the dark wood paneling on the lower walls, and the dim lighting: that's its charm. Let's move on to the cuisine, typically traditional Veneto fare with excellent ingredients and dishes cooked with great skill and patience, just like our grandmothers used to do: slow cooking to enhance flavor and tenderize the meat. Extensive wine list. The staff, the owners, are friendly and professional. We'll definitely be back!

Dinner on December 31, 2025, 7:30 PM. Delicious food, perfect menu, great service, fast, and friendly. A true trattoria location, just the way I like it! Kudos to the staff. Highly recommended!!! Too bad it's so far from my house.

A traditional trattoria with wooden furnishings. We had gnocchi and Asino as a main course for lunch. The dishes were well-cooked and tasty. I recommend it if you're in the area.

Location in the historic center of Padua. The place isn't huge, with tables very close together; therefore, it's a bit difficult to talk to/hear others. The atmosphere is dimly lit and poorly ventilated. Drink/food quality: good. Service: young, attentive, and friendly. I particularly appreciated the helpfulness and attentiveness of the two young women who helped us with our orders. The quality/price ratio is medium-high. Good, but not great. Okay.
