Ristorante Museo Caruso In Sorrento

This was by far the best meal we had in Sorrento. Nestled just steps from Tasso Square, Caruso Museo is a true hidden gem- it’s tucked away from the tourist bustle yet right in the heart of town. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. The service was impeccable, attentive without ever being intrusive, and every detail was carefully thought through. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and even more delicious than we could have imagined. The flavors were refined, perfectly balanced, and worthy of its Michelin recognition. The ambiance added to the charm, elegant, intimate, and full of character. If you are looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Sorrento, skip the tourist traps and treat yourself to Caruso Museo. It’s an absolute must-visit and a meal we’ll be talking about for years to come.

The food was amazing, very authentic tasting. The waiters were first class, very attentive and helpful. The restaurant was however very quiet at the time we went, but this didn’t detract from the overall dinner. Would recommend 100%

What a treat! From the moment we walked in the door the service was impecable. Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming and explained the menu so well. The food was so delicious and the wine selection was great! Each course was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere was so relaxed and in addition to making our party feel so welcomed, seeing the restaurant team celebrate the Nona’s birthday next to us and making her feel so special, added to the fun the entire dining room was having. They are the definition of true hospitality. Thank you for such a great evening!

During our stay in Sorrento, we had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and were deeply impressed. The atmosphere is elegant and evocative, perfectly in tune with the city's charm. The staff was courteous, professional, and attentive to every detail, making us feel pampered from start to finish. The cuisine is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. Every dish we tasted was meticulously crafted, both in presentation and flavor. We were welcomed by the waitress (forgot to ask her name) who seated us, Franco swiftly poured us a glass or complimentary prosecco which is probably the best we have had. The specials were explained which caused greater dilemma to the already delicious sounding menu. The food was fantastic, the service from Franco and the waitress was friendly and personal. Franco is knowledgeable and passionate about both the food and wine, perfectly pairing the wine to the food. Now the food… this exceeded the service, excellent. Good size portions too. The food was very similar in cost to local restaurants which are not even close in quality. Would definitely be our first port of call if we return to Sorrento.

The night before we went, my girlfriend and I wandered through Sorrento, trying to find somewhere authentic to enjoy Italian cuisine. We walked past Ristorante Museo Caruso, and noticed it was a previous holder of a Michelin Plate award. Knowing that it has to have some quality behind it, we then checked the menu and couldn't believe how low the price was for items on the menu. The next night, we went to give it a try and were blown away! The decor was gorgeous, an homage to the founder's fascination with Enrico Caruso - a famous Opera singer. We were a bit confused as to why it was so quiet inside. We sat down and treated ourself to the 6-course Taster menu at €80 each - about half as much as you would usually pay for such quality. The service was fantastic, as was the food. Kicking ourselves we found it on the last night, as we would have probably gone again to try other things on the menu. A no-brainer for an authentic, delicious Italian dinner in Sorrento.

We had a special wedding anniversary so decided to give this restaurant a try. There is a massive wine list and plenty of food choices. We chose one of the tasting menus for 80 euros. Each course seemed to get better but my favourite was probably the meat Ragu. The restaurant is a museum for Caruso so you listen to him sing as you eat and there are lots of photos and items of interest on the walls. We wanted a good evening and we got one. Very happy with service and food. The restaurant isn’t aimed at the cheap end of the restaurants but there are so many regular restaurants it was nice to have a special one.
