We had the opportunity to return to Assisi at the Minerva. I can confirm it was a unique, relaxing, rejuvenating experience, and everything was always excellent. I reiterate that the location is right in the center, just steps from the Basilica of Saint Francis. The hotel deserves the highest rating, from its cleanliness, to the excellent staff, to the always authentic and exceptional cuisine. But above all, Pietro. Thank you so much for everything, for your complete availability, friendliness, and kindness, always... thank you, Pietro.

A very well-kept, clean hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast is excellent, and the location is strategic: 200 meters from the Basilica of San Francesco and the secure parking lot. We'll be back :-)

The Hotel Minerva in Assisi is much more than just a place to sleep or eat, because it is a piece of the living history of the town of the Saint par excellence: its foundations are sunk directly into the soil of an ancient medieval village, and the current building, a beautiful 19th-century building with classical lines perfectly integrated into the village, has welcomed travelers for generations, managed firmly in the hands of the same family (the Lipparellis) since 1860, a record of hospitality that few others in the city can boast and which effectively makes it the oldest hotel in Assisi (ask for the print dating back to that era, which shows its appearance when it was still an inn—Editor's note). Upon entering, you'll experience a familiar and authentic atmosphere, and this is its hallmark: the rooms are simple, classically furnished, and equipped with every modern comfort (air conditioning, TV, and safe). But the real added value is the views, as many of the twenty-eight rooms have panoramic windows overlooking the splendid green scenery of the Umbrian Valley, offering unforgettable glimpses. On the ground floor, the hotel restaurant is a surprise, with its stone vaults and rustic atmosphere. It's a temple to traditional Umbrian cuisine, where you can savor typical dishes paired with a carefully selected selection of local wines (the wine list is beautiful, as is the choice of a limited menu, focusing on local and international specialties). Needless to say, the Minerva's real asset is, of course, its location. Situated in the heart of the historic center in Piazzetta Ruggero Bonghi, just one hundred meters from the Basilica of Saint Francis, literally steps away, this unparalleled proximity makes it the ideal starting point for both pilgrims visiting Franciscan sites and tourists exploring the city's beauty on foot (just above Porta San Pietro). Service is attentive, and the reception is staffed 24/7, with a member of the family or staff always available to offer advice and assistance. For those arriving by car, convenient nearby paid parking is available at discounted rates for guests. Choosing Hotel Minerva means immersing yourself in the most authentic atmosphere of Assisi while sleeping within the walls of a structure that has been synonymous with hospitality in the city for over one hundred and sixty years: no other place combines all these advantages in a single location and at decidedly affordable prices. The ideal spot for those visiting the city but also for those looking for a great lunch or dinner, budget-friendly, in a very exclusive and welcoming place. Need some useful info? Excellent location, above the Saba parking lot in Piazza San Giovanni, near the Basilica of San Francesco. Breakfast was also good. The room, however, was so-so. Despite being on the third floor, it had two windows overlooking the wall, so it was dark and cold. There was also no wifi or cell phone reception.

I want to express my gratitude for a very delicious lunch. Walking around the city, we found a restaurant at the hotel. We ordered pasta, beef in sweet and sour sauce, local red wine and creme brulee for dessert. All the dishes were a great pleasure. I highly recommend the creme brulee for dessert. Thank you to the hosts for their hospitality. Cozy, tasty, fast.

For a weekend in Assisi, my wife and I stayed at the Minerva.
The room, for a tourist hotel (usually one or two nights), was adequate, although the view from the window was truly spectacular!
The welcome wasn't the best (of the two ladies at reception, one was friendly and welcoming, the other almost nothing).
Breakfast was average.

A well-maintained hotel just steps from San Francesco.
Our panoramic room overlooked the valley and the main road leading to the basilica.
The room was quite spacious, as was the bathroom.
A small comment about breakfast: it wasn't nice to find a plate with a croissant already on the table, counted per person, despite the generous breakfast buffet featuring both sweet and savory options.
