Absolutely delightful! This is the second time we have experienced the beautiful food of Mater. The whole experience is exceptional - beautifully presented, exceptional service and stunning views. 😊

One wonders: but why, when I go to Casentino, do I always come here? Shouldn't I try some other place? Simple, it's essential. Excellent cuisine, fine and masterful but extremely respectful of the raw materials; attentive and thoughtful service but not suffocating; amazing location and delicious rooms or suites where you can crash after abundant libations, without jeopardizing your license and criminal record... and then you could fall in love with Marta, queen of the dining room. In short: I will always come back here, but... sooner or later I have to carve out a couple of days, because I would also like to try the simpler cuisine of the Locanda dei Baroni, but without giving up a dinner at the Mater!
P.S. However, even if you have installed the charging station, I will not come with the electric Porsche!!!

My partner and I decided to give ourselves this experience at the Mater on the advice of several people.
Not often approaching restaurants of a certain level, we were certainly intimidated, but the staff and the welcome we received put us totally at ease and we were able to fully enjoy the dishes. The open kitchen, the windows overlooking the green of the forest and the wood that dominates embrace you along the tasting journey, enhancing the flavors of the already excellent dishes even more. On the return journey we continued to discuss the dishes and the importance of enhancing what the territory offers us, appreciating and discovering tastes and techniques that we certainly didn't know, thus becoming for us an appetizing experience for the body and the mind! A heartfelt thank you to all the staff. 🤗

My partner and I spent a wonderful evening dining à la carte and each choosing different dishes, from starters to desserts. The rabbit as a second course is very good. The desserts are also really excellent. We will definitely be back!

Avevo molte aspettative su questo ristorante. E qualcuna è stata disattesa. Ci è piaciuto l'ambiente, il locale, la vista e ci sono piaciuti molto alcuni piatti del menu "in profondità ": le sfere sono state un'esplosione di sensazioni e ho trovato ottime le animelle al limone nero e l'insalatina selvaggia con sorbetto all'aceto di peperone, accompagnata da un delizioso pane croccante
I piatti si sono caratterizzati per accostamenti insoliti e In alcuni abbiamo trovato una prevalenza di sapori forti , talora aspri e con note amare.
Poco significativa e deludente la parte dessert.
Pienamente d'accordo sul discorso natura, erbe, fiori eccetera, ma, per chi, come noi, è nato nella campagna e vissuto sempre in mezzo a prati e boschi, queste atmosfere sono normali.
Ho letto tanto entusiasmo per Marta, che ha guidato la degustazione di diversi commensali. Noi l'abbiamo vista all'inizio e alla fine del nostro percorso. I nostri accompagnatori sono stati essenziali. Forse se avessimo avuto l'accompagnamento di Marta, avrebbe dato un senso ai vari piatti, ne avrebbe illustrato meglio le caratteristiche e avremmo potuto apprezzarli appieno.
