A traditional restaurant, with simple, yet high-quality dishes. The meat is excellent, in true Tuscan style. The quality/price ratio is also excellent. There are plenty of seats, but reservations are always recommended.

Fantastic restaurant! We ordered a mixed platter, tagliatelle with ragù, and tortelli mugellani with ragù (the first courses cost €12 each) and were completely satisfied. Plus, it's in a great location, close to the highway exit.

Incredible experience! Exceptional food quality! Fresh food! Super reasonable wait times! Excellent service with a waiter at the table who takes care of you from start to finish! Simple but very clean place, with an excellent selection of wines too! I absolutely recommend it! Excellent location right outside the toll booth!

Excellent restaurant in Barberino del Mugello, near the Bologna exit, making it perfect for a lunch or dinner break. Tuscan/Romagnolo menu with a focus on meat specialties! Delicious platter of mixed cured meats with or without burrata, succulent first courses, and excellent desserts. The wine list is also good. Despite being always busy, the service is quick and attentive. Highly recommended.

We exited the highway by chance, at lunchtime, and chose this place by chance... but I have to say, we were truly amazed! Unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked (while we waited, some beautiful dishes passed by us!), so we opted for sandwiches. It's been years since I've had such good prosciutto... and finally, not salty! A real surprise.

Ne avevo sentito parlare e devo dire che ci siamo trovati molto bene,ottima accoglienza col cameriere che ha servito sempre preste e molto cordiale ,il locale carino,ottimi i crostini come antipasto e super anche la Fiorentina di maremmana da 1,6kg ,prezzo nella norma per questo piatto , merita

Appena usciti dal casello ci siamo infilati da Marisa. La faccia della signora che ci ha accolto non prometteva nulla di buono ma siamo andati oltre. Il vameriere invece parecchio affabile e simpatico. Ottimi crostini toscano, trippa alla fiorentina veramente morbida e ben cucinata, ottime patate al forno. Prezzi adeguati, locale carino

Trattoria La Gargotta

09/07/2025: It's been a while since we've been back to Gargotta, and I think it's changed management. In any case, we ate very well. Excellent steak, excellent tartare, even fried flowers, and amazing desserts. The appetizer platter was perhaps a bit ordinary, and they could use a makeover. Excellent selection of wines and Prosecco. The terrace is perfect for summer evenings, with the background music of frogs that reminds us of the countryside. Discreet and informal service.
08/07/2025: Trattoria La Gargotta is a superb restaurant. I went there for dinner with four friends. We ate everything, a classic Tuscan/Florentine menu: classic Tuscan appetizer, first course (tagliolini with truffle), second course (grilled rosticciana), with side dishes (sautéed spinach and baked potatoes), and coffee. Everything was VERY GOOD. From start to finish. The service was a bit awkward; they confused the bottle we ordered with a more expensive one. The owner, having already opened it for us, apologized and offered it to us at the same price as the one we ordered. Truly very kind. (Not everyone would do that these days.) The restaurant is located in the Florentine hills, just outside the city, with a splendid terrace overlooking the city, and a very beautiful and characteristic interior. I highly recommend coming for dinner.
