Ristorante Le Carceri In Firenze

Small place in a secluded area and away from the tourist streets. It was recommended to us by a friend from Florence. Our children ate a very tasty pizza. We adults ate pici cacio e pepe and tagliolini with fresh tomato and stracciatella. First courses were nothing short of fabulous, tasty, creamy, they melted in your mouth. Certainly not dietary, but the diet is done at home and not in Tuscany! The only thing to pay attention to: you need a few extra moments of waiting on the part of the waiters before taking away the dishes at the end of dinner, just if you are still finishing enjoying the last bite. A great find in the neighborhood of our apartment rental. Highly recommend this place for pizza, not their other dishes. Got take out pizza and ate in a few times during our trip. Great service from Matt!

If you are looking for a restaurant that combines excellent cuisine and a unique experience, “Le Carceri” is the perfect place! truly suggestive atmosphere and welcoming staff. We were here with two other friends and, in addition to enjoying a delicious dinner with excellent pizzas and dishes taken care of in the smallest details, we were struck by the kindness of the owner. After the meal, he gave us a special gift: an exclusive visit to a part of the restaurant usually closed to the public, where the prisoners' cells are still located today. It was fascinating to discover the history of the place directly from the person who runs it with such passion. An experience that I absolutely recommend: good food, unique atmosphere and a welcome that really makes the difference. We will definitely be back!

They gladly made room for us even though the restaurant was very full that night, so the first impression won us over. The place is an old prison tastefully decorated in such a way that you feel very comfortable. We ordered a pizza for each of us and they were delicious, very complete and made with excellent raw materials. Although the restaurant was very full, the pizzas didn't take 10 minutes to be served. The pizzas we ordered: Wurstel and Capriciosa. For dessert we ordered crème brûlée and it was also delicious. They offered us a kind of spicy dressing that couldn't be better. All homemade and made with love. The attention from the girl who helped us was 10/10, very attentive to us and thanks to her we felt very comfortable. Also the man at the door treated us very well. We thought it was cheap for the very good quality it has and the attention they gave us. We hope to return!

This was an amazing find. The food, service and warmth is incredible. We came back several times during our stay. The Tuna / Avocado / Tartare appetizer is incredible as was all our meals. The restaurant is located in an old jail. The atmosphere is perfect! Highly recommended.

Abbiamo prenotato con amici principalmente perchè il locale era strategico per il parcheggio - Le Murate e S. Ambrogio - e perchè un po' appartato rispetto ai flussi turistici del pieno centro. Fino a qui tutto perfetto; qualche problema è subentrato con la rumorosità del locale e il fare brusco dell'addetto ai tavoli, troppo informale, considerando che era evitente che fossimo un gruppo di ultra 65enni; in effetti tutto il resto della sala presentava una clientela più giovane e dedita, principalmente, al consumo della pizza. Noi abbiamo diversamente ordinato alla carta, mescolando un po' l'ordine della cena; qualcuno ha preso antipasto seguito da secondo e contorno, altri primo e secondo. Normalmente questa successione non presenta grandi ostacoli per la successione delle consegne, perchè gli antipasti si collegano con i primi e poi si coordinano tutti i secondi ordinati. Nel nostro caso un secondo è arrivato molto dopo il primo, quando tutti gli altri avevano terminato la cena, consumata nei tempi giusti per non far freddare le loro pietanze di carne. Per fortuna il cibo era piuttosto curato e gustoso, anche se dispiace dire che in dei momenti sembrava di essere proprio "fuori posto" anche perchè alcuni commensali, forse lì per festeggiare qualcosa, urlavano sguaiatamente senza che nessuno intervenisse per moderarli, invitandoli al rispetto di un volume di voce più educato. Prezzi non proprio popolari considerando il tipo di apparecchiatura, le sedute e il fatto che abbiamo consumato una bordolese di rosso della casa e che nessuno ha consumato le tipiche 3 portate: primo, secondo e contorno e che nessuno ha preso il dolce. Abbiamo speso 36 euro a testa. Sicuramente non si tratta di un locale turistico, ma per far convivere il ristorante con la pizzeria e i rispettivi pubblici forse bisogna avere più mestiere e capacità nel gestire la sala.
