Great family run place! Truly highly recommended if you visit Scanno, but remember to book in advance!! Very friendly and welcoming staff, helpful and quick in service. The cuisine is popular and typical, and presents dishes that are a little different than the usual kebabs and grills :)

Locale piccolo a conduzione familiare. Piatti semplici ma eseguiti in maniera perfetta. Siamo stati trattati con gentilezza e coccolati con gusto... prezzo assolutamente adeguato all'offerta. Da ritornarci!

Trattoria from times gone by! Run by two very kind and nice sisters! We had lunch and had a great time! Excellent quality as well as the right bill! I recommend it to everyone who wants something homemade and typical! 😍🔝

Ottimi sapori, una naturale cordialità, la cura nella preparazione unita alla semplicità dei piatti ne fanno un luogo in cui i piatti locali esplodono in tutta la raffinata semplicità. (Fra l'altro hanno l'orto da cui raccolgono le verdure che servono a 3 km.) Gustosissimo

I had dinner twice at Porta di Scanno. The restaurant is run by two sisters who prepare local cuisine. The restaurant does not have many seats so it is difficult to dine there without having booked first, unfortunately it is also difficult to get in touch by telephone, so I recommend going directly to the place to book. The restaurant offers different proposals between first and second courses but they are all linked to the Abruzzo tradition. The waiters are very kind and helpful. Average prices but above average quality. They are not equipped for gluten-free, that is, they do not have gluten-free pasta/bread, however most of the second courses can be eaten by a person with celiac disease.

Trattoria Fore le Mura da Franchino

13/08/2024: Assergi is a very strange village, very beautiful but badly damaged by the earthquake. Da Franchino is a very nice trattoria, frequented by many local people, dishes that are unknown to me (spaghetti alla guitar alla gricia, exquisite spaghetti alla guitar with wild spinach called ORAPI)... And then the legendary kebabs! Fantastic and funny Franchino. Absolutely worth trying. Huge mixed starter!

18/08/2024: The Ristorante da Paolino, located in the heart of the charming village of Pescocostanzo, is a true culinary jewel that is worth a visit. The beauty of the village adds a particular charm to the experience, but it is the food that really steals the show. Every dish I tasted was simply extraordinary, worthy of a Michelin star. As soon as you cross the threshold of the restaurant, you are immediately welcomed into a warm and familiar atmosphere, as if you were entering your home. This is one of the aspects that struck me the most: the ability of the brothers Roberto and Paolo and of both parents, with the "boss MOTHER" at the head of everything, to create such a welcoming and warm environment, without ever losing sight of the service excellence. The level of care and attention to detail they offer their clients is impeccable. The quality of the food is exceptional, with refined flavors and a presentation that enhances each course. Furthermore, the wine list is well-stocked and of a truly important level, perfectly capable of satisfying even the most demanding palates. And I can't fail to mention the quality-price ratio, which is really excellent, considering the quality and the overall experience. If you are in the area of ​​Pescocostanzo, a dinner at Ristorante da Paolino is an experience not to be missed. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking not only for an exceptional meal, but also a place to truly feel at home.
