We are from Bologna, on holiday in these parts, they told me to stop for lunch and so we did. 5 of us arrived without a reservation and in the blink of an eye they found us a table. It was a bit like going to visit friends you haven't seen for years. Friendly, welcoming staff and excellent food. Must try the Pallotte, the pie, the lamb, the soups of the day, the sausage... in short, everything is top. If I'm back in those parts, I'll definitely go back.

Lunch during a trip to the L'Aquila area.

The menu at the Locanda sul Lago is a true celebration of traditional Abruzzo cuisine, with a selection of dishes that makes the most of local products. During lunch, I had the opportunity to taste some specialties that left me really satisfied. As an appetizer, I chose a platter of local cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by homemade jams: a combination of authentic flavors that expresses all the richness of the territory. For the first course, I couldn't resist the famous macaroni alla guitar with lamb sauce, a typical dish from the region that was executed to perfection, with homemade pasta and a rich, flavorful sauce. The second course exceeded expectations: I opted for the grilled lamb, cooked in a traditional way and served with seasonal vegetable side dishes. The meat was tender and succulent, with that smoky touch that only grilling can give. To finish, I chose a typical dessert, the parrozzo, a cake made with almonds and chocolate, served with a glass of house gentian, perfect to end the meal. Each course was accompanied by an excellent selection of local wines, which enhanced the flavors of the dishes. In particular, the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo that was recommended to us proved to be the ideal choice, with its intensity and roundness. In summary, the Locanda sul Lago menu is a journey into the authentic flavors of Abruzzo, with dishes that tell the story and traditions of this land. The care and passion that the chef puts into every preparation is evident, making every meal an experience to remember.

8 of us (+2 dogs) arrived today for lunch at the last moment, they welcomed us with open arms. Good food, impeccable welcome. I recommend and will see me often.

We went for dinner after visiting the neighboring towns. The location is nice and well located in an enchanting environmental setting. The menu doesn't offer much and the foods used are modest. Beware of prices that are much higher than those seen in the reviews. A full meal including drinks exceeds €60

Appena arrivati in questo paesino lontano dalla frenesia dei giorni moderni ci fermiamo a mangiare in questo locale. 4 stelle le fanno le pietanze, sicuramente spartane ma abbondanti e con materia prima di buona qualità, l’ultima stella la fanno i due camerieri che ci hanno servito, veloci e cordiali. La ragazza, gentilissima, si è subito premurata che la Labrador con noi avesse acqua da bere, gesto mai scontato.
