31/08/2025: I gave it 5 stars even though I didn't believe what I'm about to tell could happen. Previous experiences at this bakery had all been positive until the day we left on August 29th to return to Rome after a three-week vacation. My wife and I stopped by the bakery the morning before work to buy focaccia in various flavors for the modest cost of about €35. My wife began to suspect that they had passed off some pieces from the previous day (hopefully only one) since we saw an employee coming out from behind with trays of focaccia quarters on them. When it was time to pay, she raised this suspicion, but the clerk, slightly resentfully, replied that they threw away the previous day's leftovers (a shame, considering so many people are in need). This response increased our suspicions, but based on the very positive experiences of the previous days, we trusted them and left, taking them home, storing them in a cool place, and then leaving in the early afternoon. To make a long story short, the day after the zucchini pizza we gave to my daughter on Saturday, she told us today she had to throw it away because it was sour. Furthermore, we noticed, and her daughter confirmed, that the next day the potato pizza was already dry, something that had never happened before after two days. While the olive and tomato pizza and the white pizza with olives have remained as soft as ever, right up to today (the last slice). Now I'm wondering: is it better to lose a good customer or give the leftover pizza from the day before to someone who can't afford it?
Tourists love to be treated well because they're more willing to spend their money and where they find honesty, as in our experience. Especially since down the same street there's another excellent bakery that will surely be a favorite for a future vacation.
31/08/2025: We've been in Puglia for three weeks now. I absolutely love bread, and so far this has been the best bread I've tasted. Soft, fragrant, and compact, practically perfect.
I haven't tried the focaccia or pastries, but I'll definitely stop by next time.
