Ristorante La Cascata In Casalbore

05/08/2023: My wife and I went to Gilden Mill yesterday for lunch (since we were looking for a restaurant in the area as we were here for our anniversary). You can hardly notice the restaurant from the outside (but it is very close to the village of Calitri) because it seems small. Outside on the wall at the entrance there is a beautiful mural which is striking for its particularity: it represents the cook in the kitchen. Well-kept interior, an inn that also wants to be chic. We are not talking about a starred restaurant, but not even a tavern, on the contrary!. It is a family-run restaurant/pizzeria (wife cook and husband pizza chef and lounge/bar) which adapts perfectly to the context of the village of Calitri. It presents (like other restaurants in the area) typical local dishes. We tried the "cannazze" and the "cavatelli" with a tasty sauce (with and without cheese) and served in classic bowls of traditional Calitri ceramic and with a mini foam (for plating) and the tiramisu both classic and with lemon (portions normal but tasty, served in a glass jar). Normal prices (unlike what has been said in other comments). Owners, very kind and easy-going gentlemen who spoke with us about this and that, even about private life. 04/08/2023: Siamo stati al Gilden Mill ieri a pranzo io e mia moglie (siccome eravamo alla ricerca di un ristorante in zona essendo qua per il nostro anniversario). Il ristorante da fuori quasi non lo si nota (ma è vicinissimo al borgo di Calitri) perché sembra piccolo. All'esterno sulla parete all'ingresso c'è un bellissimo murales che colpisce per la sua particolarità: rappresenta la cuoca in cucina. Interno locale curato, una locanda che vuole essere anche chic. Non stiamo parlando di un ristorante stellato, ma nemmeno di bettola, anzi!. È un ristorante a conduzione familiare che si adatta alla perfezione al contesto del borgo di Calitri. Presenta (come altri ristoranti della zona) i piatti tipici del territorio. Abbiamo provato le "cannazze" e i "cavatelli" con un sugo saporito (con e senza formaggio) e serviti in classiche ciotole della tradizione ceramica di Calitri e con una mini schiumatola (per impiattare). e il tiramisù sia classico e con il limone (porzioni nella norma ma saporite, impiattate in un vasetto di vetro). Prezzi nella norma (a differenza di quel che si è detto in altri commenti). Proprietari gentilissimi e alla mano che con noi hanno parlato del più e del meno anche della vita privata.
