I don't know if I'd recommend it... the food was good but nothing exceptional, and for the price we paid, the portions were tiny. For example, a mixed grill of fish with two scampi, two prawns, a piece of squid, and a fillet cost a whopping €35.00, and then a large dessert with a muffin cost €8.00, etc.

The food was amazing! 😊 We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, which we know can be difficult at this location—so we were really thankful for that. Unfortunately, our experience with the service wasn’t great. Our waiter came across as a bit unfriendly. I’m not sure if it was a cultural difference or a language barrier, but if someone isn’t confident in speaking English, it might be better to ask a colleague to step in. There are always polite and friendly ways to communicate— At one point, I was vaping discreetly on the terrace, and the waiter approached my boyfriend with a rather abrupt “Hey sir, no smoke here.” My boyfriend doesn’t smoke at all and hadn’t even realized I had taken a quick puff from my vape, so he was quite surprised by the comment and the way it was delivered. A more polite or friendly approach would’ve made a big difference—especially when addressing the wrong person. Or, addressing our dog in the walking area with a smile rather than just pointing or sounding harsh. A friendly attitude can make a big difference, even when setting rules. Sadly, we didn’t feel very welcome, so we decided to keep it to just one course. That said, the food itself was truly excellent, and we appreciate that part of the experience. 😊

The fish is always very good, being located above the fish market. The service could be a little more attentive.

Not bad food, expensive for the portions they make!!

Truly excellent. We had a cheese focaccia and a mixed fried fish to share, both delicious. The fried fish was especially crispy and not at all greasy. Then came the pesto trofie, which reminds you why this recipe is so famous, and the pasta alla cambusa was fantastic. Finally, the Livorno-style polpetti were highly recommended. In short, a very satisfying lunch. €30-40 per person, including wine.

We've known this restaurant for decades. The staff goes out of their way to make their customers happy and make you feel like family. The food is excellent!!! Best regards Domenico

Good food and adequate quantities.

We had a lunch at that place after our visit to Portofino in the spring. The food was delicious, good service, nice location.

We've been to La Cambusa before, and it's always a sure thing. Excellent food, super-knowledgeable staff (we had sea bream and they cleaned it like a surgeon...not a single bone). The fish is always incredibly fresh. Congratulations, you're our go-to place in the Ligurian Riviera. Well done!

Perhaps the restaurant with the most beautiful location in Santa. Very good food. Recommended.
