Ristorante la Cambusa In Santa margherita ligure

The first course was excellent, especially the pistachio cream and fish. The service could be better compared to the setting and prices. The waiter was unprofessional, cold, and impersonal when presenting the dishes. In fact, I'd say it's just not up to par.

The food was amazing! 😊 We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, which we know can be difficult at this location—so we were really thankful for that. Unfortunately, our experience with the service wasn’t great. Our waiter came across as a bit unfriendly. I’m not sure if it was a cultural difference or a language barrier, but if someone isn’t confident in speaking English, it might be better to ask a colleague to step in. There are always polite and friendly ways to communicate— At one point, I was vaping discreetly on the terrace, and the waiter approached my boyfriend with a rather abrupt “Hey sir, no smoke here.” My boyfriend doesn’t smoke at all and hadn’t even realized I had taken a quick puff from my vape, so he was quite surprised by the comment and the way it was delivered. A more polite or friendly approach would’ve made a big difference—especially when addressing the wrong person. Or, addressing our dog in the walking area with a smile rather than just pointing or sounding harsh. A friendly attitude can make a big difference, even when setting rules. Sadly, we didn’t feel very welcome, so we decided to keep it to just one course. That said, the food itself was truly excellent, and we appreciate that part of the experience. 😊

Excellent food but even better location and views

We had a good meal - fried anchovy starter, fish of the day and the steak with rocket. Nice view over harbour.

Both the pasta and the Ligurian-style fish, as well as the dessert, meet expectations. The service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant offers views of the unremarkable harbor. However, the value for money is comparatively poor.

As we didn’t have a reservation, the lady was very nice to assist and give us a table as we won’t take too long anyway to have the food. The food was amazing and it’s all great. The portions aren’t that big but it was fine. They charged for our 7month old a cover charge though. Anyways! I guess that’s how it goes in some places. At least we had a table in this town where everywhere seems to be fully booked! 😅

Great food! Loved the Pesto Risotto washed down with a chilled Rosato

We both ate a very tasty fish fillet. However, the side dish and the preparation of the dish were quite bland. The sauce was rather watery. Overall, for our taste, too expensive for the service offered.

Abbiamo trovato questo locale per caso, passeggiando sul lungomare di Santa. Bella terrazza vista porto, personale gentilissimo ed ottimi piatti… i dolci poi super!!!

Abbiamo scoperto questo ristorante diversi anni fa e , ogni volta che veniamo a Santa, e’ tappa fissa per tutta la durata del soggiorno . Pesce freschissimo , cucinato in maniera eccellente . Personale gentile e competente. Servizio veloce. Alberto e Debora
