I decided to have lunch here since it's really close to the Colosseum, and I wasn't disappointed! I booked a couple of days in advance just to be safe, and I recommend doing so. I had the carbonara, which was very good, but I also tried the amatriciana, and I have to say, it left me speechless! It was truly delicious 💝 I'll definitely be back!!

Neither good nor bad. We came in for lunch when the staff was having internal disagreements in the dining room. The service was adequate, but I didn't sense any... soul in the waiter. The impression is that there's effort but no love. The food is okay, the price is average for what I've seen in Rome (15 euros for anything, minimum, and we had both a first and second course), but the crispiness of the guanciale in the carbonara needs attention, often so tough it could break your teeth. I'm editing my review because I forgot that the bottle of water (which I pay for but is probably free from the tap, as I could get it from the street fountains) had mold on the cork thread. Very bad. The wine list is remarkable.

We celebrated our first anniversary there, with delicious dishes (especially the antipasto artichoke and the pasta) and good wines.

We had a great meal at Hostaria Isidoro. Originally we had walked to a different restaurant looking for pasta, and the server recommended we walk further down the street to Hostaria Isidoro as he enjoyed the pasta there. We followed his advice, and we're very grateful we did! We got the cacio e pepe and green ravioli and they were so good! It was quiet and most people in the restaurant were speaking Italian, which made us feel good about not being in a tourist dive restaurant. We would definitely come back next time in Rome!

The restaurant is close to the Colosseum. It's large, so it's easy to find a table. The service is friendly and helpful. The wait for meals is never longer than 15-20 minutes. Our order included baked zucchini flowers with mozzarella and anchovies, grilled artichokes (very good), niocchi with cod, and grilled chicken (a bit cold) with spinach. The dishes were generally good, but the appetizers were definitely better. The wine list was good.

05/02/2026: I had dinner at this restaurant with my daughter. The atmosphere is very pleasant and comfortable, the background music is excellent, the food is very good, and the wait staff is truly friendly and helpful.
