On the recommendation of our hotel, I made a detour to Il Sotto Marino in Follonica. Located right on the beach promenade, the restaurant doesn't make the best first impression, as the outdoor dining is more suited to autumn than summer. But all that was forgotten when we were treated to extremely professional, very competent service, and even more so when the incredibly delicious food (in my case, sea bream!!) was served! Extremely tasty and highly recommended for any fish lover!

Chat GPD recommended this fish restaurant on Follonica's beach promenade to us. We were thrilled. The seating is fantastic, slightly elevated, with a view of the sea. The dishes were all excellent and creatively executed. The first course, mashed potatoes and ricotta, was fantastic, and the appetizers (scallops and warm fish salad) were outstanding in both taste and presentation. Then came homemade ravioli with cod filling, and for the main course, the classic fresh fritto misto and a monkfish with fantastic fennel. A lovely glass of Vermentino from Tenuta Montauto was also served at a fair price. Perfect!

Congratulations! This place is amazing! The service was impeccable, they were super fast and we didn't even have a reservation. Excellent food and perfect presentation, highly recommended.

I went to this restaurant with my partner for dinner. The staff was kind and very knowledgeable. The food was sublime, from the appetizers to all the courses, with very fresh fish. It was the second time I ate at this place, which in my opinion is the number 1 restaurant in Follonica, not surprisingly it is listed in the Michelin guide. I will definitely be back soon!!

A beautiful restaurant on the Follonica seafront. Refined dishes and super attentive service. The atmosphere is elegant, and the dishes are refined and beautifully presented. Definitely worth a try.

Excellent restaurant with quality food and impeccable service. Prices are average for the type of restaurant. Too difficult to book; we were on holiday in August and were told there were rooms available from September onwards.

My partner and I dined here on September 8, 2025. I couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough: the chef (who, I might add, is also very humble) creates perfectly balanced dishes, and the entire staff is very courteous and attentive. The dishes are truly excellent and offer excellent value. Highly recommended.

24/10/2025: Excellent little restaurant hidden in between alleyways, boasting a curated menu that changes from week to week. I went with calamari stew (€14) for an appetizer and busiata gambero rosso (€18) for my main, and was not able to fit a dessert. Portions are solid, but not overwhelming. The calamari stew was especially delicious - the calamari were springy yet neatly doused in the rich sauce, with crunchy toasted bread providing a wonderful texture. The busiata were very good, however slightly paled in comparison to the starter. This is not due to the sauce or the exceptional pasta, but rather the calamari felt a lot more robust than the prawns. That said, both dishes were very good. The wine selection provided by the attentive and gentle staff was lovely - I went with a glass of white wine (€6), which managed the rate feat of tasting a whole lot better than it smelled - and it didn't smell bad at all! Overall, while this is hardly the most economic eatery in Trapani, it must rank among the better ones. The peaceful ambiance, kind staff and good to great food (including fantastic bread) leaves little to be desired. Recommended.
