Simply outstanding. On different occasions the restaurant in a tourist-filled old city area with too many restaurants was full, and my guess was that a good part were locals - that tells you something.

We scored a last minute reservation here and the food did not disappoint! Every dish was lovingly prepared with the freshest ingredients. The tuna carpaccio was to die for and the best spaghettini vongole is the best I’ve ever had. I was only sad that they aren’t opened on Mondays because I would have returned to try all of the other menu options.

We were lucky to reserve a table the same day and it was absolutely pleasure to have dinner at Il Pavone! The restaurant offers unique atmosphere, signatory delicious cuisine and exceptional service! We were delighted by the fact that the owner came in person to take our order and give some recommendations. Some of the specialities have been served since the opening in 1979 and anything we tried was fresh, tasty and prepared with love! Very good selection of wines! A place where we would like to return!

Ho cenato in questo ristorante ed ho mangiato del buon pesce pescato col giusto sapore di mare. Dall'antipasto al primo ed al secondo tutti i piatti mi hanno soddisfatto pienamente. Locale non ampio ma gradevole, gestione familiare sapiente.

Accoglienza squisita, amore per la ristorazione e grande professionalità. L'atmosfera è piacevolmente rilassante, il pesce freschissimo e il servizio ottimo. Complimenti al proprietario che gestisce questo locale da oltre quarant'anni e accoglie personalmente ogni cliente facendolo sentire gradito ospite!

24/09/2025: I started with an aperitif and then continued with dinner: the burger and dessert were simply perfect. The quality of the meat was excellent, well-cooked, and full of flavor, accompanied by fresh ingredients and thoughtful pairings. Even the dessert was a pleasant surprise, balanced and delicious. Impeccable service: friendly, attentive, and always available staff. The atmosphere was welcoming and meticulously maintained, ideal for both an aperitif with friends and a more relaxed dinner. Prices are a bit high, but the quality is top-notch.
23/09/2025: I didn't like the burger; I found it dry. The beans were good, but I found the fried arancini sauce unpleasant; it disgusted me.

27/09/2025: This is the pick of the surprisingly plentiful options in this tiny location (about five restaurants here). I am a little reluctant to tell the world about Marina di Praia, and Bar Mare (Donna Clelia) and risk spoiling it - but I’ll let you in on a secret…this is the jewel of the Amalfi Coast - all the benefits without the crowds. From the first time we came to this restaurant (over 10 years ago) Salvatore made us feel like family. Crayfish his friend caught, beans and chillies from his father’s garden. His family and his staff eat in the restaurant (I’d actually like a job here !!!). The staff are wonderful and friendly. The food is original - a lot of dishes are Donna Clelia’s original recipes, including the amazing bread. The menu is not extensive, just good dishes made well. Love this place, love this restaurant and the people. Will be back every time we visit Italy. Ciao Salvatore, family and staff.
