My partner and I took a tour of Garfagnana and stopped here for lunch: an excellent choice! We started with a delicious appetizer, including truly incredible fried porcini mushrooms—perfect frying, 10 out of 10. Next, we had farro soup and tagliatelle with mushrooms, both very tasty and well-prepared. But what made the experience even more special was the lady who served us: extremely kind, friendly, and passionate. When I told her how much I enjoyed the savory tart on the platter, she brought me another piece... on their behalf! An authentic place, excellent value, and a truly unique welcome. Highly recommended; it's exactly what you expect (and hope) to find in such a beautiful area!

Very nice place and very friendly staff. Excellent service. Fantastic appetizers with locally produced cured meats and cheeses. Among the first courses, try the Garfagnana "lingue" (pasta-shaped pasta) with wild fennel pesto. The fresh blueberries with ice cream are also excellent. Definitely worth a try!

A wonderful little restaurant! The staff were very kind and helpful (also helping us practice our Italian) and the food was absolutely delicious. There was no vegetarian main dish, but we were quite satisfied with a primo piatto and a coffee.

02/01/2026: Very good piadinas, maybe a little more attention to the salad. The piadina shop in Lucca's city center had a very nice and kind woman, who always wore braids, but I haven't seen her since, so you've lost points. Overall, good.

05/11/2025: Immersed in a charming atmosphere, Tana dell'Orco is a place to find yourself. Inside, there are tons of customer drawings plastered on the walls and a truly unique seating arrangement. It feels like a medieval tavern, spartan yet welcoming. I was here with friends during Lucca Comics and Games. We had sandwiches and pizzas, all excellent and, above all, well-seasoned. I mean, the pizza with sausage and fries is hearty and filling, not just three sausages and two fries. The burger is also hearty and flavorful (the sauces are also provided at the table). Good prices and friendly staff. We only had to wait for coffee because the car needed charging, no problem at all. Parking is a bit of a sore point, being near the station, but if you wander around the narrow streets you'll find something. Otherwise, there's a large paid parking lot right next to the station.
