Ristorante i Giganti In Cabras

We were looking for a restaurant to eat fish and they gave us this name saying they had eaten by the sea, looking at the reviews they spoke well of it, and from some photos you could see the sea in the background... when we called we didn't understand why on one side it mentioned Cabras and on the other another town, but with the same phone number, we booked and went to Cabras following the maps directions. Once outside the restaurant in advance we looked for the sea... But the sea was not there... So much so that we began to doubt whether we had booked in the wrong restaurant... but no... the restaurant was right but... only once inside... since at the next table another couple of diners also asked where the terrace overlooking the sea was because they had also seen those images, it was explained to us that that was another restaurant now closed... (too bad we all wanted that one)... anyway, despite the start full of doubts, even if a little old-fashioned, the place was pleasant. We had a seafood tasting, with six tastings of each course, and some truly delicious seafood macaroni, rich in seafood and flavor. To finish, two desserts, also very good. Despite the lack of a sea view, I would return for the food and the service, with very kind and professional waitresses. I usually take photos, but this time I forgot; I just ate.

My family and I have been frequenting this restaurant for a long time, first located in the center of Cabras and now on the Torregrande marina. It's one of the best restaurants for enjoying fresh local seafood. Among the various dishes, all delicious (including the carasau bread and the incredibly soft semolina bread), we enjoyed a delicious smoked mullet appetizer with bottarga (a generous dish with bottarga cut into strips, not "sawdust"), a simple but excellent linguine with bottarga and chili pepper, and an excellent (or rather two) red scorpion fish with olives and potatoes, all washed down with an ice-cold "Attilio" brut sparkling wine. We had a wonderful dinner, in a romantic outdoor setting, right on the beach and overlooking the sunset. The staff was kind and professional, and the owners Cristina and Angelo were friendly and very helpful. The reasonable quality/price ratio is yet another confirmation that encourages us to return.

The fish was incredibly fresh and the service excellent. The pasta with clams and bottarga was incredible, and the seared tuna was delicious.

The "I Giganti" restaurant is located in the heart of Cabras, along Via Tharros. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and in keeping with the local atmosphere and traditions. Two fassoni (sheep) cattle (one at the entrance and the other on the fish counter) stand out, testifying to the local fishing industry. The staff was very friendly and professional, providing excellent advice on choosing our dishes. We sampled an octopus appetizer, a burrida appetizer, and first courses such as calamarata and Ermes rice with seafood. The skate burrida was excellent, with the vinegar used for the marinade not overpowering the chili pepper, and vice versa; it demonstrated a remarkable balance between salinity, acidity, and flavor. The desserts were also exquisite. The staff was always present, demonstrating friendliness, knowledge, and a strong customer focus, especially Mrs. Maddalena, who was very attentive and prompt in her service. Good value for money

Anemone for an appetizer, simply a unique flavor. Very fresh fish, the problem is choosing between grilled and mixed fried! And delicious desserts, all typical, I'm very satisfied.

Excellent service, superb quality fish and seafood. The staff were incredibly friendly. They even let us bring our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in. I'm still thinking about the oysters I ate. Absolutely delicious.
