Ristorante - Hotel Villa Mabapa In Venezia

A run-down, dilapidated building... its former charm was barely perceptible. Our room was in the attic. No view whatsoever... we could only see through the skylights while standing on a chair... terrible! The bathroom was ancient. No elevator. Narrow staircase. The sofas in the anteroom were completely stained. All in all... never again... unless it's completely renovated!

A lovely hotel with a period facade and a large terrace, undoubtedly pleasant when the weather is nice. A pretty room with a balcony, and a good, varied breakfast. The only downside: the soundproofing. Having just received some tragic news that forced us to cut our stay short, the young man we dealt with (the manager?) was incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind—something we will remember for a long time. Thank you again to him. We hope to return soon!

We don't personally know the rooms in the main building; other guests mentioned at breakfast that they are rather small (especially the very narrow showers). We stayed in the annex, which is located in the backyard garden. The room on the ground floor was large and had a modern, spacious bathroom. However, it was very coldly furnished (the floor was completely tiled, even in the living area). When the weather changed and a stronger wind blew, a rattling noise robbed us of our sleep. I looked for it because I couldn't sleep. It's on the outside wall of the house (the rear wall facing the service area/workshop). Some pipe or cable is loose and rattles in the wind all night long. The pool is still new (2025). However, it's not deep, about 1.40m, just enough for swimming. We booked the hotel primarily for the pool, as we didn't necessarily want to drive to the beach every time the weather was warm. Since there aren't many hotels on the Lido with pools, this shallow pool is also a good thing! The breakfast was okay. Only the toaster seems to be more of a museum item. The electrical fuse blew once. Everything was dark; it was probably the toaster's fault. What we liked least were the rental bikes. They're included in the price, but that's no reason to let them deteriorate like this. They had safety issues: weak or broken brakes, no gears, rusty, and rickety. PLEASE, dear hotel, do without daily towel changes (no one needs them these days), but instead TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR BIKES!

The hotel is located about a 15-minute walk from the boat landing stage at the Lido, right on the waterfront. All in all, the hotel is very nicely furnished and quiet. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned and small, but very clean and have a romantic touch. The pool is also suitable for ambitious swimmers, although we are not talking about Olympic distances, of course. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

An Art Nouveau-style building in a quiet location along the Riviera Lido San Nicolò. It's very close to the ferry stop (about 500 meters) and about a kilometer from the vaporetto stop (also easily accessible by bus, as the stop is just a few meters from the hotel). It has a restaurant (which I didn't try, though), a small indoor parking lot (but you can park on the street), a small outdoor pool, a pleasant garden, and even offers bicycles for exploring the island. The staff is very attentive and courteous (it's nice to meet people who smile at you), the cleanliness is excellent, and the breakfasts are varied and plentiful. Our room was pleasant, but it needed some updating and wasn't completely soundproofed. The price is definitely fair.
