Giannino is an upscale restaurant close to Centrale Stazione Milano. The ambience is definitely nice and very neat with receptionist and wardrobe service. The quality of food choices and taste are definitely very elegant and nice. The service is pretty slow, although there were many people for serving, everyone trying to do their little task definitely could improve. The time for the dishes to arrive were a bit longer. For the price they charge for sure they need to improve their service levels. It is a nice restaurant however you don’t get that wow effect.

We had a lovely dinner here on Friday night (which was our last evening in Milan after a 10-day visit). We really enjoyed the ambiance, the staff were very friendly and helpful (shout out to Francesco), and the food was delicious. We would definitely dine here and I recommend to anyone looking for great food and and elevated atmosphere!

Giannino dal 1899 was top tier. The food was delicious and tasted authentic to the Italian cuisine we were looking for. We were not disappointed with our decision to dine here! The restaurant itself was very comfortable and beautiful. The service was phenomenal. Franco, our waiter, was more than welcoming. His kindness, catering to our needs, and amiable personality were very heartwarming and appreciated. This is an excellent choice for dining, and a restaurant you should not miss.

Giannino has been an “iconic” restaurant in Milan since 1899, in Via Vittor Pisani 6, between Piazza della Repubblica and the Central Station. Founded in 1899 by Giovanni Bindi, known as "Giannino".
The restaurant has gone from a simple wine shop to a point of reference for the Milanese bourgeoisie and the international jet set. Over the years, it has hosted celebrities such as Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly and Maria Callas, whose photographs still adorn the walls of the restaurant.
Giannino's culinary offering combines Milanese tradition with international influences. Among the classic dishes, the Risotto alla Milanese, the Costoletta alla Milanese and the Veal Ossobuco stand out.
Chef Maurizio Lai, together with executive chef Andrea Locci, has also introduced innovative dishes to the menu such as Fregola mantecata ai crostacei con miso di riso and Hummus di ceci al lime. Very interesting environment, excellent service, raw materials used and dishes. Highly recommended!

I went to Giannino for a dinner with friends and I left fully satisfied! The place is well-kept and maintains an old-world charm without appearing "lived in". The staff is courteous and knowledgeable, and here a special mention is due to Dennis, who accompanied us throughout the evening knowing how to guide us through the menu and wines, meeting everyone's tastes. We ate very well, simple traditional Italian dishes but executed to perfection, tasty and prepared with quality ingredients, congratulations!

My experience at Giannino was simply impeccable. Despite my numerous food intolerances, the team handled them with great care, still managing to offer me a memorable dining experience.
The hospitality and service were excellent, with a rare kindness that I noticed right from the entrance. A special mention goes to the young lady at the entrance, always smiling and welcoming, and to Dennis and Franco, who made the experience even more special in the dining area.
A place where professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail truly make a difference. I will definitely be back

Dinner in a historic place in Milan. Elegant place but not too formal. I started with the agretti, very good but the risotto alla milanese was really excellent, creamy and with a nice strong flavor.
A round of applause goes especially to Franco and Yvonne of the staff: kind, friendly and super attentive, they made the difference.

Really enjoyable dinner. I chose the traditional ossobuco: absolutely delicious, just as it should be. I'm not a great wine lover, but I let myself be advised on the pairing and I must say it was a nice surprise, a good choice.
Compliments to the girl who welcomed us with a smile and to all the waiting staff: kind, professional and able to make us feel immediately at ease.
Overall, an excellent experience in a classic Milanese restaurant.
