During our pilgrimage to San Giovanni Rotondo on November 9, we had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and the experience was truly excellent. We were greeted with a smile and a warmth that made us feel right at home. The lunch was excellent: authentic, plentiful dishes, all served with great attention by the waiters, who were kind and timed perfectly for a large group like ours. The atmosphere is ideal for sharing a moment of conviviality and serenity among pilgrims. Special thanks to the owner, Antonio, for his availability, his daughter, and the staff. Highly recommended for those visiting San Giovanni Rotondo who want to enjoy excellent local cuisine in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. I'll start with the positives: excellent value for money and very good meat. The downside was that my mother specifically asked for a very simple pasta shape (penne), and we were told it wasn't possible to have a different shape than the one on the menu. After a while, we saw all sorts of pasta shapes being served to other tables. It makes no sense at all.

Excellent.....nothing to say. Without a reservation.....they welcomed us kindly, even though almost everything was full. The menu was set at 22 euros. Excellent for those of us who visited San Pio. A first course, second course, side dish, water and wine with bread and cover charge included. What more could we want from life? Thanks to everyone at Fra Daniele.

Quiet place, very good homemade food, great service and kindness, in a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. A special plus: those who book lunch receive free reserved parking for the day. I confirm the helpfulness and expertise of Francesco and the rest of the dining room staff. The almond desserts flavored with pistachio, hazelnut, limoncello, and coffee are excellent. Great job!

Excellent food and location, friendly and helpful staff, just steps from the main cathedral. Highly recommended for those who love good Italian cuisine, and why not, Apulian cuisine.

A charming, welcoming place close to the cathedral. Exceptional staff. Incredibly good food. The appetizer and orecchiette with turnip greens were fabulous. The roast beef was delicious. Try the almond pastries to accompany your coffee. The young waiter who served and looked after us was extremely friendly and professional. He even let us sample the local extra virgin olive oil to accompany the bread. The price was very reasonable. We were completely satisfied.

08/02/2026: Always happy to return, despite the years, the Giardino di Monsignore restaurant and beach club remain a guarantee of taste, elegance, and excellent value. A little more attention to customer service from the dining room staff would be welcome.
13/01/2026: LOCATION: The Lido Giardino di Monsignore Pizzeria and Restaurant is located in Contrada Torre del Porto in Mattinata. A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: This restaurant is well-known among tourists and locals alike. When you arrive, you can enjoy an incredible view of the sea. Especially at sunset, when the sun disappears behind the rocks, the sea is tinged with various colors. On the several occasions I've been, I've enjoyed both the fish-based first and second courses, as well as the pizzas. Each dish reflects the tradition of the Gargano. The restaurant has ample parking, a significant detail in an area that's very busy during the summer months. The photographs I took are testimonies that tell a story, more than a thousand words. FUN FACT: DID YOU KNOW THAT...? The Port Tower was one of the ancient coastal towers built in the 16th century to guard against Ottoman pirate raids. Special thanks go to Vincenzo, who served us excellently, with great professionalism and friendliness. Everything was perfect, truly top-top-top! We will definitely be back.
