What can I say? I went with my parents for my mother's birthday (also my parents' wedding anniversary) and we asked them to organize an all-fish tasting menu. My father lived right above the restaurant as a post-war child, and we were treated splendidly. About fifteen courses of the freshest fish, the stuff of a wedding banquet, with a glass of Prosecco and a couple of glasses of Blue Label Vermentino. Many courses featured grouper, REAL baby octopus, a fabulous scampi cream risotto, amazing fried fish, various fresh fish salads, mussels, seafood lasagna, paccheri... Desserts, seadas, and myrtle liqueur were offered. We got up staggering from the quantity, but not feeling heavy, because the cuisine is tasty yet light. €60 per person, for the equivalent of two full meals each, is not much even if the owner wanted to treat us particularly well. So, I assume it's one of those places where the price, given the quality and quantity, is more than fair. Then, while we were eating out, I noticed a very well-known politician (obviously a foodie!) from the Northern League was there with some colleagues, who was raving about it. And that confirmed to me that it was an excellent restaurant. Because with politicians, it's like with truck drivers: if you want to eat well and get good treatment, you have to eat where they eat...

Pleasant atmosphere, poor service from foreigners who don't speak the language. Edible food.

They were looking for a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and here we found much more. It's a wonderful historic venue, one of those with a touch of the past, where you immediately feel at home. But the real star is the cuisine: Chef Fabrizio is simply top-notch. Impeccable dishes that honor tradition. Absolutely worth a try.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The fish appetizer was very small, not up to expectations. Furthermore, the artichoke was decidedly too tough, a sign of sloppy preparation. To make matters worse, the subsequent dishes arrived very slowly and were not synchronized between diners, creating discomfort during the meal.

Quality, authentic food, no-frills presentation, a truly "old-fashioned" place where you can eat well without overindulging. The myrtle liqueur and Sardinian sweets are a welcome addition to the meal.

25/03/2026: Neither praise nor infamy. Invited to lunch, I enjoyed the lobster tongues, which were exceptional. I didn't like the appetizers, and the main course didn't satisfy my palate. I'm speaking for myself, of course.
24/03/2026: Delicious pizza, excellent meat and vegetables, and the owner is incredibly friendly. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend!

L'Allegro

09/04/2026: Even though I've been walking past it for over 30 years, I'd never tried this restaurant... and I was wrong. The decor was meticulously maintained, the dishes spotlessly clean (a rare thing these days), and the wait staff was courteous and attentive; I didn't even have to ask for more when I finished the bottle of water on the table. We ate an excellent octopus salad with potatoes and Taggiasca olives. The pasta with clams was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and the portions were just right. The scialatielli with mussels, pecorino cheese, and yellow cherry tomatoes were simply perfect; the quality of the ingredients and preparation was evident on the palate. For our second course, we shared a perfectly fried calamari and shrimp dish, with a light, flaky batter that was perfectly dry because there was virtually no oil on the paper or on the dish. To finish, we had two artisanal Pizzo Calabro truffles with cream, which were truly delicious. They've been at this location since 1969, there must be a reason...or not?! Congratulations to the owners and staff.
07/04/2026: We went to celebrate my brother and my birthday, and we adored it. Great food and wine, beautiful location, great service. We will be back.
