Ristorante Donatello In Bologna

A very good restaurant with good dishes. I didn't like how they served the mortadella in chunks; I think it's better sliced ​​thinly, but to each their own. The steak with Modena balsamic sauce was very good, as were the pasta and the small tortellini with soup. The ice cream and other desserts were also very good. I didn't like that the owner (at least that's what it seemed to me) was vaping inside the restaurant, or yelling excessively in the kitchen, which could be heard from everywhere.

I would have liked to give this wonderful restaurant 5 stars, because given the location, the quality of the food, and the excellent staff, it deserved every single one. It's a shame about the owner. For the entire first part of our meal (when we were the only ones in the room, so it was extremely quiet), she did nothing but blame her staff for the lack of proper cleaning. She taunted them with very unpleasant comments, making them feel inadequate, and loudly humiliating them in front of us, making us feel truly embarrassed and unsure how to react. To one of them, after several minutes of taunting, she even said, "Go away, get out of here, you've annoyed me enough." It was horrible. Luckily, she left at a certain point during our meal, and from there, everything continued very well. Her attitude was making me lose my appetite. I'd like to remind the owner of Donatello that if customers keep coming back, it's undoubtedly due to the impeccable service of her chefs and waiters. Respect is essential, ALWAYS!

Excellent place, we were served quickly despite it being quite late and without a reservation. Typical northern Italian cuisine. We recommend it.

The place is cozy and the decor perfectly complements the delicious food. The service is excellent. I highly recommend it; my family and I will definitely return if we go back to Bologna.

What can I say about Donatello? A true Bologna institution that has been around for over 50 years. The food is consistently good and the service is worthy of a true restaurant.

Consigliato da un amico e... aveva ragione! Ci sono stato con mio padre e abbiamo trovato tutto quello che cercavamo: una cucina bolognese autentica, sapori pieni, piatti fatti come si deve. Niente fronzoli, solo sostanza e grande cura nell’esecuzione. Il servizio è stato una chicca: uno di quei camerieri “vecchia scuola” che sanno dosare attenzione e simpatia con maestria. Tappa obbligata per chi vuole vivere Bologna anche a tavola, come si deve.

Mi ci hanno portata degli amici che conoscevano già il posto. devo essere sincera, da fuori non capisci bene se sia una trappola per turisti o un posto in cui sia doveroso fermarsi. Entri e capisci. Consiglio a chiunque vada a Bologna per la prima volta oppure no, titolare davvero cordiale, molto diretta, ma efficiente e perfetta padrona di casa. Il personale è professionale, attento e disponibile, e il cibo eccezionale. Merita! Inoltre sono ammessi gli animali, anche di taglia media. In centro a Bolgona, consiglio di prenotare!
