More than a restaurant and a hotel, it is a LEGEND.
A legend is usually something invented, a fruit of the imagination with fantastic characters.
No, here No it's all true, all real, so beautiful, welcoming and evocative that it actually feels like being in a fairy tale.
Kindness and friendliness take on what I would dare say is "therapeutic" contours: they pamper you and make you feel good with every look, every step, every piece of advice, every choice.
For the history and continuity of the dishes, among other things with self-produced raw materials, Michelin should give a "North Star" like those on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and go beyond 1, 2 and 3 stars. After a year and a half of work it reopened this year 2024 in March and I must say that today it is certainly the best of what can be found in the catering and hospitality scene.
I could go on but this is just a review.
For lovers who haven't been there yet: GO THERE! It is indeed a LEGENDARY experience.

Una esperienza enogastronomica fantastica. In una delle più grandi maison della accoglienza mondiale. Non saprei scegliere il piatto migliore. Dalla ricciola al maialino. Passando per i plin e lo spaghetto aglio ed olio. Grandi maestri. Da Ernesto in cucina a Mario in sala. Ma soprattutto la sapienza di don Alfonso. E la magnifica classe da grande dama di madame Livia. Applausi

A fantastic food and wine experience. In one of the largest hospitality houses in the world. I couldn't choose the best dish. From amberjack to piglet. Passing through the plin and the spaghetti with garlic and oil. Great masters. From Ernesto in the kitchen to Mario in the dining room. But above all the wisdom of Don Alfonso. And Madame Livia's magnificent grande dame class. Applause

We had dinner. Fantastic evening with attentive and excellent service. Score 10 for the menu and the possibility that the owners give to choose a tasting menu or à la carte dishes. In such renowned venues this is not something to be taken for granted. Even though the dishes are traditional, they have a modern note that enhances them. The staff are very attentive but not intrusive, this is also not a given nowadays. For those who want to live an experience it is the right place. The cellar is splendid. The owners are very simple and refined people, they welcome you and follow you throughout the evening. I think staying is equally splendid. They also have a cooking school room.

Don Alfonso is an experience to try at least once in your life. As a good Apulian I was welcomed just like the Neapolitans know how to do, feeling at home. Let's start from our check in and enter the room, we were amazed by the size and the typical Amalfi/Sorrento furnishings, as well as being very well-stocked and with a good view of the greenery of the gardens.
Breakfast: excellent, a real fairytale apart from the hotel's proposals where croissants and hot donuts, yogurt arrived......we tried our proposals including eggs and bacon, cured meats, cakes (and you can list endlessly).
Lunch: the lunch experience for those who don't understand it is gourmet and of the highest quality in addition to the unexpected beauty and art of the dishes themselves (works both in taste and sight).
Extremely kind staff including waiters, staff and the very kind family of Don Alfonso (wife and children Ernesto and Mario) who warmly greeted us with a tasty farewell souvenir. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish and I'm sure I will absolutely return.

Si può recensire un'esperienza emotivo/culinaria? Il rischio di fare paragoni con altri ristoranti è troppo alto e rischierebbe di non rendere giustizia a questa struttura che sin dall'accoglienza fa emergere le differenze. Immersa nel verde con saloni particolarmente belli ed eleganti e una cantina da BRIVIDI per quanto è bella, straricca di vini e stimolatrice di tutti i 5 sensi. Indiscutibile la qualità delle materie prime, utilizzate con tecniche sopraffine e all'avanguardia. Carta dei vini infinita. Cordialità, cortesia e competenza di tutto lo staff sono evidenti in ogni dettaglio. Serata indimenticabile.

Wow....unsuspecting nothing, we walked into the restaurant of this hotel because we wanted to eat something other than pasta and pizza. We had started the morning early and had already made great memories, but this adventure was the crowning achievement. If you are not aware of the Michelin stars, you will initially be shocked by the price, but it is well worth it. From the loving welcome to the artistic and tasty dishes... they get a big 10 from us. We ordered 1 main course, but got a 5-course menu, or so it seemed. Delicious crostinis, followed by 2 types of sandwiches with local olive oil, the main course with a great taste sensation, followed by a scoop of lemon ice cream and finally tea with a tier full of chocolates. The lady of the house asked us if we would like another Limoncello from the house.... A bit embarrassed, but charmed, we declined. Thank you dear people. This experience was unforgettable. If we ever visit the Amalfi Coast again, we will definitely come back. Better dressed and prepared.... 🥰 Lots of love from Ruud and Lenny
