If you find yourself in Bologna’s center, Ristorante De La Meirda is worth a stop. Unlike the many spots doing mortadella panini, they use focaccia instead—filled not only with mortadella but also prosciutto for extra variety. The combinations are creative and well executed, with a few standout “delizie” on the side. The outdoor seating under cover is generous and cozy. A must-try place for a different spin on Bologna’s flavors.

Stopped here, as it's a quaint spot in the square. Had one of their sandwiches, which were fabulous. Paired nicely with an Aperol Spritz 😏 Agree with other reviews, not sure why the place doesn't have more reviews. It was quite popular over lunch.

Well done!! The friggione with sweet and enveloping tomatoes is delicious. Focaccia with mortadella, burrata, and pistachios too. Fair prices, normal for downtown Bologna!

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews of this place as it is always busy day and night. During the day it's a great place to stop for a coffee and watch the world go by, at night time it serves very good cocktails at very reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and there is a good atmosphere. 10/10

30/04/2026: Let me cut to the chase, do yourself a favour, visit Caffè del Mercato, order their Lasagne alla Bolognese and a glass of House Red Wine and you will be the happiest person in the world. Food We ordered 2 Lasagne alla Bolognese (one for each of our party) and a glass of House Red Wine. Taste This was possibly the best lasagne of my life. The marriage of the perfect spinach pasta, slow cooked ragu and creamy bechamel is something I will remember for a lifetime. The whole lasagne melted in my mouth and the flavours tied beautifully together. I cannot praise this dish highly enough. The House Red Wine was beautiful, it complemented the hearty cuisine of Bologna perfectly. This restaurant showcases the culinary talent and passion of Bologna and the country of Italy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. 5/5.
