Today my husband and I had lunch at Meo's, taking a trip to Bocca Seriola. Friends had recommended the place. The service was excellent; everyone was very kind and attentive. The food was good, with some outstanding dishes like the crostini nero and the fresh, homemade sweet and sour giardiniera. The cured meats, however, were a bit disappointing, except for the capocollo with fennel, which was truly excellent. The sautéed mushroom sauce on both the crostini and the first courses was excellent; the lamb chops, however, were tough and we didn't like them as much. The thrushes were excellent, and the second courses were good. The cantucci with vinsanto were excellent, very fresh and homemade, as was the zuppa inglese with a delicate, fragrant cream that reminded me of my grandmother. The price was fair, around €40 per person, all-inclusive, including drinks and coffee. We'll be back, even though it's a bit far from Valdichiana, where we live. Compliments to Signora Silvana!
