Ristorante Da Angelo In Milano

Best Florentine steak I've ever eaten.....I've been trying for over 20 years but I still haven't found anything better! Definitely the tastiest in Milan.

The best Fiorentina in Milan After a long time I returned to this restaurant for dinner with my wife. The restaurant has old origins as it has been present since 1969 in the same location in Milan. Initially opened by Mr. Angelo, a true Tuscan, from whom he takes his name, unfortunately passed away a few years ago, and is now managed by his two sons: one takes care of the kitchen and the other in the dining room. The interior has a warm and welcoming decor, forget about hi-tech, soft lights and various pandering: here what matters is eating well... and you eat well! In order to better savor the Florentine we left out the first courses today, however, promising to "make up" for the lack next time which will surely be there soon. We therefore started with two appetizers of excellent bruschetta with lard and livers and we shared a plate of Tuscan raw ham cut with a knife which has nothing to envy of the much mentioned Spanish jamon serrano. Then comes our classic real Florentine steak on the bone which is the restaurant's signature dish: I have no doubts in recognizing that for us it is the best Florentine steak eaten in Milan, and beyond! Tender, lean but with that little bit of fat that doesn't hurt at all, cooked rare, salted and peppered just right, soaked (not drowned) in extra virgin olive oil. As a side dish we took a plate of spinach and one of grilled Trevisana. All accompanied by an excellent 2020 Carignano red wine. We then concluded with a slice of homemade apple pie, coffee and bitters. Final bill normal. In conclusion, what can I say? Beautiful evening, excellent food, friendly and attentive but never intrusive staff, ready to advise you and satisfy your every need. In short, it deserves all 5 stars! Until next time!

Dopo tanto tempo sono tornato in questo ristorante per una cena con mia moglie. Il ristorante ha vecchie origini in quanto è presente dal 1969 sempre nella stessa location a Milano. Inizialmente aperto dal sig. Angelo, toscano doc, da cui prende il nome, purtroppo passato a miglior vita da qualche anno, ora è gestito dai due figli: uno si occupa della cucina e l'altro in sala. L'interno ha un arredamento caldo e accogliente, scordatevi hi-tech, luci soffuse e ruffianerie varie: quì quello che conta è mangiare bene ...eccome si mangia bene! Noi proprio per assaporare al meglio la fiorentina abbiamo oggi tralasciato i primi piatti promettendoci però di "recuperare" alla mancanza una prossima volta che sicuramente ci sarà a breve. Siamo dunque partiti con due antipasti di ottime bruschette con lardo e fegatini e ci siamo divisi un piatto di prosciutto crudo toscano tagliato a coltello che nulla ha da invidiare al tanto nominato jamon serrano spagnolo. Poi ecco arrivare la nostra classica vera fiorentina con l'osso che è poi il piatto forte del ristorante: non ho dubbi nel riconoscere che per noi è la migliore fiorentina mangiata a Milano, e non solo! Tenera, magra ma con quel filino di grasso che non guasta affatto, cotta al sangue, salata e pepata giusta, bagnata (non affogata) in olio extravergine d'oliva. Come contorno abbiamo preso un piatto di spinaci e uno di trevisana alla griglia. Il tutto accompagnato da un ottimo vino rosso Carignano del 2020. Abbiamo quindi poi concluso con una fetta di torta di mele fatta in casa, caffè e amaro. Conto finale nella norma. In conclusione che dire? Bellissima serata, ottimo cibo, personale cordiale e attento ma mai invadente, pronto a consigliarti ed ad accontentare ogni tua esigenza. Insomma, 5 stelle se le merita tutte! Alla prossima!
