Ristorante Cinese Universo In Roma

Delicious food and incredibly kind owners.

This place needs some renovation. The food has been too salty lately... I come here when I want to eat close to home.

The restaurant has a fairly small dining room, with a larger outdoor terrace added in the summer. The floor is made of transparent glass, and underneath there's a sort of Zen garden with water—a nice idea, but the bright green neon lights illuminating the entire lower area create a more Martian atmosphere than a Chinese restaurant. Otherwise, the place is dated and definitely in need of modernization. The service is quite slow, but the food is good: I tried the steamed dumplings, which were good but small, and a Cantonese rice dish that was plentiful but too salty. The prices are average. All in all, nothing special.

Friendly service, food was tasty. It is a shame that is not very popular.
