The only welcome words: "passports"... you sense from the moment you arrive that the customer is disturbing. Impression confirmed later... at breakfast a young, grumpy and totally mute woman hides everything she can to avoid having to deal with you, getting a drink on the terrace in the evening is an obstacle course, no one at home reception, no one anywhere... Amazing! Fortunately young Nora was there...

After several years of being a guest in the villa, I feel like providing an objective and correct review. It is a historic villa from the 16th century which has its own structure and is wonderful as it is with the splendid park that surrounds it. They have spacious and well-kept rooms, cleanliness and service are very accurate. Of course there are well-defined spaces and it is certainly not a "modern" hotel but the beauty of the environment lies in this. The breakfast service, where you have a very well-stocked buffet available, is excellent. As for the desserts, I would like to underline that most of them are made by them and are delicious, fresh and of excellent taste. The kindness and professionalism of the staff is greatly appreciated, for me who spends a lot of time away from home, it is something priceless. The restaurant has a large, quality menu, with fresh ingredients; they are very attentive to intolerances and the foods used and their availability towards the needs of all customers is added value. The place is dreamlike, out of time, and the silence of the environment allows you to feel really good, whether you are on holiday or away on business.

A very old-fashioned and old four-star hotel, you have to like it. Ancient rooms, very old school bathroom with a disturbing open window, vintage furniture, fridge that was absurdly hot. At breakfast there were many homemade desserts, but with a questionable taste, and the buffet lacked cutlery and it was not clear whether everyone had to use their own (however unhygienic based on some people's behavior). Coffee and cappuccino - to ask for because they are not available at the buffet via a machine - not worthy of Italy (water and terrible taste!). The staff was not capable of great communication and hospitality, we even left the keys on the counter at check-out because there was no one in sight and they didn't even bother to come out of the booth to greet us. Very uncomfortable position above a very long gravel and unpaved climb, unreachable on foot. Ok we are in San Miniato but I wouldn't go back.

We booked the accommodation after our trip to Florence so we could go to Pisa the next day. Ideal place to rest, great location, great property. The service was very good, the young lady at reception was very helpful and brought us something to drink straight away because of a mistake and we were able to wait relaxed. It is definitely worth it. Thanks go to the young lady.

Following an event, I stayed at Villa Sonnino; a wonderful villa/building from the 1500s, with ample internal and external parking close to the town of San Miniato. Easy to reach from the Florence-Pisa highway. Welcoming reception staff, as friendly and professional as the serving staff. Delicious dishes: excellent greetings, such as the sensational casarecce with white Cinta ragù and linguine with truffle peel. Rich sweet and savory buffet for breakfast: excellent homemade cakes, as well as various biscuits. Wonderful environments, as pleasant as the bedrooms with brick ceilings and wooden beams. It is useless to talk about the cleanliness found in the rooms and bathroom, and in all common areas. Savior

A point of reference for events, thanks to the many rooms available, it has a truly excellent internal restaurant. Receptions of all types, weddings, confirmations, communions, birthdays, in an enchanting, almost fairy-tale setting. Immersed in a park within the typical white truffle harvesting area of ​​San Miniato, it welcomes guests and external customers with kindness and attention.
