One of the best restaurants serving traditional Bolognese cuisine.
The eggplant and chickpea appetizers are delicious and included in the price, along with bread and crescenta.
The tortellini in brodo are textbook, the perfect size and incredible broth, perhaps the best tortellini you'll find in a restaurant in Bologna.
Hand-rolled tagliatelle with ragù, highly recommended.
The cotoletta alla Bolognese is a little different from the usual; their ancient recipe may surprise or disappoint, but it's worth trying.
The atmosphere is stunning, a perfect blend of osteria, tradition, and high-end restaurant.
The service is fast and the waiters in impeccable uniforms are impeccable. The "old-fashioned" boiled meat trolley is a wonderful tradition that I hope they never lose.

We were 12 at this restaurant on New Year's Eve. Everything was ordered correctly, except for two side dishes of potatoes, which we paid €7 each. They arrived hard, dry, and clearly reheated several times, to the point of being inedible.
We pointed this out to the waitress, who replied that it was impossible because, according to her, they had just come out of the oven. Impossible. The potatoes were sent back and never replaced.
When it came time to get the bill, after spending €600, we asked if it was possible to have an amaro. The guy at the cashier told us to ask his boss. Spotting the owner behind the guy, I politely asked if he could offer it to us, without realizing he was eating an apple. The gentleman he was talking to, presumably a colleague, responded by saying that we were disrespectful and that "not even an apple could be eaten."
It's a shame, because the starters were really good, but I don't think we'll be back.

I enjoyed all the dishes I tried. I started with an entree consisting of good mortadella and deliciously soft eggplant. The dry tortellini were delicious and very small, with slightly thick pastry. To finish, a sublime artichoke in milk. So, I'd say: for the food, I recommend it. Unfortunately, we tried several sparkling white wines, but none of them were memorable. The review is more than positive for the food, but I hope the wines improve. I haven't stopped at Fabio's in a while, but I'm glad it hasn't become a tourist hotspot. Very good.

As soon as we entered, we were escorted to our table and were presented with two complimentary eggplant and chickpea dishes. We had mortadella as an appetizer for two, tagliatelle with ragù and tagliolini with artichokes and aged ricotta for the first course, cotoletta with roasted potatoes for the second course, and for dessert, a tenerina with ice cream and a rice cake. Aside from the desserts, which were a little cold, everything else was delicious and amazing. My pasta was delicious—you could tell it was fresh and the ingredients were top-notch (I had tagliolini). The service was excellent, the prices were fair, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The only thing that left us perplexed was the 200ml Coca-Cola for €4—highly recommended.

An excellent, traditional, historic osteria, where we ate deliciously and enjoyed friendly service despite the late hour. A little more expensive than average, but absolutely in line with the quality and experience it offers.

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of Bologna, authentic and traditional. We were a bit crowded at the table and had a bit of a wait for our dishes, but the food was excellent. They also bring a few appetizers to try at the beginning: eggplant, pumpkin, and chickpeas. I also recommend the desserts.
