Nice little place, good food but the service could also be better looked after. Little staff, a little disorganized.

We ate very well and with the new management we can perceive a notable leap in quality in the cuisine with the introduction of fish dishes. The “La Palette” appetizer is definitely worth trying with several people. The typical casunziei for the first course and the very soft pork shank cooked at a low temperature for the second course are very tasty. The environment is the typical wooden hut, there is also a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking Mount Pelmo. The staff is friendly and approachable, the service times of the dishes could be improved. Overall I highly recommend it!

The Baita Ciastel Restaurant Bar is an enchanting refuge surrounded by greenery, with a breathtaking view of the main peaks surrounding San Vito di Cadore. Marvelous! I was there with some friends and we started with an aperitif on the terrace, then moved inside to eat a first course each. For the aperitif we ordered the "tavolozza" (in the photo): €32 for two pieces of cured meats, some vegetables, two pieces of cheese and a couple of croutons. I found it excessively expensive. At that price I expect a palette for two people (€16 each) to be filling and satisfying, but these expectations were dashed. So, we moved inside to eat a first course. Again, the portions were not very generous. However, the raw materials, both of the platter and of the first courses, were really excellent, and the homemade pasta partially compensated for the small portions. The prices of the first courses are average for the area. The staff was courteous, kind and really very helpful.

Beautiful location with a view of Mount Pelmo, Antelao and Mount Crystal. The cabin is very beautiful in its completely wooden interior with tables also outside where you can relax and enjoy the various proposals. The dishes are good and well-proposed. The staff, in my opinion, is a little cold, but always present. I find it a little strange to find dishes with fried shrimp and calamari on the menu, but if they are there, it means that someone orders them. I would have liked to find typical dishes such as dumplings and spatzle.

I could say...a really nice place, sunny, well looked after and rearranged by the new management, very interesting and I would say very good quality/price dishes, for different tastes. Well done, a nice experience. We will be back

Had lunch twice in a few days with the new management, menu of Cadore dishes with the addition of some gourmet variations. I ate well with correct prices for the area. Tables both inside and on the covered terrace. Keep it up...
