Food and service were absolutely amazing!

It's the second time we've been there, the food and service are exquisite and all this in a very pleasant atmosphere.

Nice atmosphere, good food. Service could be a little friendlier. Chairs are uncomfortable. The “bell ringing” that means food is ready is too loud and very annoying (sounds like the school recess gong).

I can't help but give the restaurant 5 stars. I booked that same morning for a table for two, dinner time. The restaurant is located a stone's throw from Piazza San Marco, but in a place (which fortunately remains) not frequented by mass tourism. Let me start by saying that the restaurant is renowned by those who want to eat well and want to stay away from the tourist traps. The restaurant is very beautiful and above all characteristic, at the entrance there is a small open courtyard for those who wish. We were welcomed by the owner, Sir Pino (in Venetian), a truly kind and knowledgeable person. The dishes are very successful, an excellent combination of ingredients and preparation. The choice of wines is very good I recommend it for anyone who wants to make a good impression on family or colleagues, or a dinner with their partner. I will definitely return.

The place is very charming I really liked the decor + the little garden which is magnificent The staff was very kind and professional. On the plate I would have liked a little more finesse and refinement in the presentation + the taste of the dishes. It wasn't bad but very simple. I paid 45€ for a lunch menu and 1 bottle of water 😂

Updated review September 2024 Unfortunately the last visit wasn't as expected. We were really craving for the carbonara again and the result was disappointing We are not sure what happened but the sauce was watery and the Guanciale wasn't crisp. The presentation also had decayed a lot. The other dishes were okay, but we were sad about the carbonara. Now looking in the new reviews I see the carbonara had changed, it has the same aspect than the last one we ordered- so it wasn't just bad luck. I really hope it improves, the restaurant has a amazing atmosphere and kind staff. The photo added shows the one(we fell in love)2 years ago and the new one. Jan 2023 Best restaurant in Venice. Authentic Italian food, all the dishes were amazing. The atmosphere is cozy inviting you to have a good glass of wine. Definitely a place to try.

Ennesima conferma sulla qualità eccellente di questo ristorante per diversi aspetti: cucina, efficienza e cordialità del titolare e dello staff e la location. Ho ordinato delle ostriche come antipasto, poi spaghetti alle vongole e un assaggio del fegato alla veneziana, accompagnati da un Etna bianco veramente buonissimo. Complimenti ancora a Pino ed al suo staff per la qualità di quello che l'Antica Sacrestia offre ogni volta che vengo, facendo sempre un'ottima figura con parenti, amici e colleghi. Pre-trip research sourced this Venetian restaurant and we were not disappointed. We decided to locate the venue during a rain-filled late morning walk. The doorway was open into a delightful garden, and as it was before noon we were not sure it would be open. A gentleman (turned out to be Pino, the Owner) beckoned me in, advising they were open. What a building! A magnificent setting (where St. Francis once stayed) and we were treated to a clearly very informed history discussion. Even before we dined, we decided to reserve dinner here a few nights later - sometimes you just know due to atmosphere and the welcome. So lunch was divine fegato and polenta, local wine and the creamiest Tiramisu. On confirming our booking Pino, a man of obvious travels and world experience with a depth of EQ and people-skills, advised upon our return for dinner he would request of the Chef to prepare us a Venetian meal. Full of anticipation, the dining experience was overwhelming in quality (and volume) with an excellent bottle of Sicilian red. We were royally treated - and discovered the President of Italy had dined there 2 days prior (we wondered why the security elsewhere in the city whilst out walking - clearly a high profile visit). Pino is passionate, humble and a very special human. We can’t wait to go back.
