La Brace

23/06/2026: The place is well-presented, attractively designed, and has a large, convenient parking lot. Inside the dining room, there's a central area dedicated to grilling meat, and it's fun to see how it's cooked. The menu selection is interesting. That said... We ordered two grilled fillets, one rare and one medium-rare. They didn't include any salt or peppers in the vegetables that come with the grilled meat (which are zucchini, eggplant, and peppers). Potatoes are also included by default, so a grilled meat dish usually comes with baked potatoes and mixed vegetables. We'll save this information for later. As I pass by the grill island, I notice that the mixed vegetables are all on the same tray. I ask the waiter if peppers are inevitably mixed in with the vegetables. He tells me no, because they're cooked separately. From this, I understand (perhaps I misunderstand?) that there's a possibility that the vegetables are cooked on the spot and served on the plate, and not "fished" from the tray of those cooked just before. We also save this information for later. The meat is brought to us with salt and peppers, to which we point out that we specifically requested them without. After some organizational confusion (the second attempt was about to arrive without salt but with peppers, saved in extremis), our plates are remade and this time the meat is brought to us without anything (great, since at the table you can add oil, pepper, and salt yourself) and a plate of potatoes is brought to us separately. We are also asked if the problem with the peppers is due to an allergy, to which we reply yes (it is true), and the vegetables are never brought to us. So, is it possible that the contamination was inevitable? This is what I imagine, because nothing was explained to us, and we weren't asked if we wanted an alternative to the vegetables; they simply weren't brought. As for what we ate: we gave up trying to figure out which fillet was rare and which was medium; they looked the same, but since we had to remake them, it's possible this information got lost in the ether. Okay. The meat was good. The potatoes had a delicious, crunchy texture. It's a shame they were very salty, and I'm not saying this because I eat low-salt food. They were salty to the point where "maybe the chef smokes and can't taste the flavors." Salt can always be added (especially since there's a salt shaker on every table), but it can never be removed, so this choice is incomprehensible. Lastly, I really appreciated that they serve the meat on a plate at room temperature and not on a red-hot plate like some restaurants, which then cooks you rare. Good on them for using normal plates. The barley coffee is good. They were kind enough to let me bring my dog into the restaurant; I don't take it for granted anymore. Overall, a positive experience, with room for improvement in some areas, but perfectly suited to those who don't have intolerances or requests for modifications to dishes (I know, I understand that they bother the kitchen, and I understand that habitually, we go on autopilot, especially when we have to work quickly). However, I don't think we'll return because part of the experience of going to a restaurant is not having to worry about checking what's on your plate.
11/06/2026: Nice, spacious, modern place. Tables not too close together. Lovely view of the park. Excellent meats, as is the wine. Desserts could be improved. For 800 grams of Irish beef on the bone, a good bottle of bubbly, water, two desserts, and two coffees, €98.
