Nestled in a beautiful, meticulously maintained natural setting, Al 588 offers a refined and authentic culinary experience. The service is impeccable, with attentive and professional staff. The value for money is exceptional for a top-tier restaurant.
The wine selection is excellent, perfectly complementing the amazing cuisine. The homemade bread and olive oil are delicious and a great introduction to the overall quality of the food.
We particularly enjoyed the fillet steak with porcini mushrooms and the "Montagna Toscana" dessert.
A restaurant that masterfully combines taste, elegance, and local tradition. Highly recommended. Top of the list in Florence!

It's not cheap, but every euro is worth it. The service is exceptional, the maitre d' charming and very helpful. The food is delicious, and the surroundings are very pleasant.

Culinary Impression – Solid Appetizers, but Clear Room for Improvement
Appetizers: Gyoza & Gnudi
The gyoza were excellently seasoned and the delicate consommé made for a successful start. The gnudi, on the other hand, seemed rather bland – unconvincing as a vegetarian course and, at €19, unjustified.
Main Courses: Fregola with Wild Boar Soprassata & Cinghiale
The fregola was too small for a main course; the lemon flavor dominated, while the thyme was barely noticeable – overall unbalanced and rather unspectacular.
The wild boar fillet was perfectly cooked and harmonized well with apple and caramelized onion. Unfortunately, side dishes were lacking – neither vegetables nor filling components like polenta were available in sufficient quantities.
Dessert: Tiramisu & White Chocolate Cream
The tiramisu – a reinterpretation – disappointed with its dry cake and lack of refinement. The cream was solid but unremarkable. Here, too, the value for money seemed off.
Service & Pricing
The service was first-class – well above what one would expect without awards.
The pricing structure, however, seems excessive: €13 for a 0.1l of Chardonnay is ambitious, even for the region around Florence. The coperto of €10 per person is also unusually high.
Overall, there was a lack of finesse, consistent portions, and balanced pricing. The staffing level in the service seemed excessive and could have contributed to the pricing issue. Another distraction was the nearby highway, though the host was obviously not responsible for this.
A return visit is out of the question for us due to the aforementioned points.

Tuvimos una noche encantadora en Al 588 – Adults Only. La ubicación es hermosa, creando el escenario perfecto para una noche relajante y agradable. El personal fue amable y atento durante toda la noche. Los precios están un poco por encima de la media, pero la experiencia general hace que valga la pena.

Siamo stati qui per la seconda volta a festeggiare la
Pasqua, abbiamo scelto menù fisso e come sempre non delude mai lo Chef Perini! Ottimo cibo, sapori autentici del territorio, con una notevole attenzione sugli oli EVO del territorio nazionale e personale cordiale e accogliente, sicuramente torneremo a gustare qualcosa di nuovo!
