The food is excellent, both the grain minestrone and the honey-cooked meat, both very sweet and tender. The homemade bread is also delicious. The prices are a bit high, but you pay for the quality and craftsmanship. The owners are very welcoming and attentive, and occasionally organize themed educational evenings. The refuge is half an hour from Seren del Grappa and is located along the provincial road, making it easy to get to. Thank you for your hospitality; it's always a pleasure to return.

As always, you stumbled upon it by chance!
4 or 5 tables for 4 or 6 people, no more, snow outside and a fireplace inside, you just want to stay. The menu consists of 4-6 typical mountain dishes.
Canederli with smoked ricotta, I think, but I remember the two dishes we had well: roast shank with boiled potatoes and raw cabbage with fennel, and goulash with mushrooms and polenta.
We don't drink wine and opted for two 1/2-liter bottles of beer; they had Pedavena and coffee.
The portions were really generous.
Let's say that for us, €22.50 for a single dish was perhaps the end of the day. With €7 per bottle, €1.30 for coffee, and a €2 cover charge, it seemed a bit pricey, but in the mountains, a typical restaurant is acceptable!
The walls and ceiling of the room are lined with display cases containing relics from the Great War; they call them, not surprisingly, a museum.
The food was good, the place was picturesque, the day was pleasant, the company was excellent—what more can I say? ...

A well-maintained refuge with a small museum of relics from the Great War. Davide (the owner), a great historian, taught us his work twice, accompanying four eighth-grade classes on tours of the memorial and trenches at Cima Grappa. Let's not forget his wife, Elena, an exceptional cook, whose dishes we had the pleasure of sampling.

Intimate, family-friendly place, superb cuisine, just a few things done well! All cooked in a wood-fired stove... Top-notch service and explanations...
A step back in time.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Val Tosella refuge because he wanted to hike with Davide, a history expert and popularizer. Davide, a highly knowledgeable and approachable person, took us to strategic World War I positions where my husband's grandfather fought. The hike was very interesting and even emotional, even bringing a few tears to our eyes. On the way back, we had lunch, and Davide's wife Elena prepares dishes that are nothing short of exceptional, deliciously unique, using fresh, authentic ingredients. The pork shank and goulash are a must-try, not to mention the ricotta gnocchi and melted cheese dumplings. Well done, Elena and Davide, it was a pleasure to be your guests and feel like family.

We had lunch at this refuge, which still preserves the tradition of wood-fired cooking. We ordered a platter of excellent cured meats and cheeses, delicious goulash with dumplings, and coffee served with homemade desserts.
The interior feels like a World War I museum, with so many historical artifacts; we'd never seen such a unique refuge before.
The exterior is a paradise, surrounded by mountains.
Thanks to the hostess, who was incredibly kind.
A must-see.
