We drank a coffee and walked for 2.5 hours to Piani di Pezze

The room was really tiny, but sufficient for an overnight stay. The premises are clean. You can hear absolutely everything in the rooms, but after 10 pm it was quiet everywhere. Dinner was really plentiful, the food could easily have lasted me the whole day. However, the wait to order food was over 45 minutes. The view is amazing!

They are very friendly at this Refugio and very accommodating towards dogs. Allowed us into the restaurant with our dog and gave her sausage.

We stopped for one night with two families, four adults and five children. We all shared a clean and tidy dormitory. The bathrooms were fine. The service and food were fine. The staff were welcoming and the location was fantastic. Breakfast could be improved, but when you're surrounded by such beauty, everything becomes a small detail.

The young, very friendly and helpful staff offer generous, tasty dishes and a spectacular view! They also have gluten-free bread!

A lovely, undemanding walk starting from the Palafavera parking lot. The refuge is a great place to recharge. Service is good and fast despite the crowds, and prices are fair. From here, it's a 5-10 minute walk to Coldai Lake.

This was easily the most crowded hut on our alta via 1 hike. There are a ton of day guests. The staff was fine but of course everything becomes rather impersonal with that many guests. We got a very tiny room (room 9), but we saw that many other rooms were more spacious. I didn't like that olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper all come in small packages, resulting in a ton of waste. There is a lake only 20 min hike away from the hut which was surprisingly warm and which we gladly used to swim so we didn't need hot showers.

Another breathtaking view to close out the day's hike. Wifi: Yes Food: Lunch was very tasty (though the goulash/polenta dish was salty unless you mixed the whole thing), dinner was ok. They had salad, which was rare/excellent. The breakfast was rough....it the worst coffee we had on the alta via 1 I'd say. Rooms: Comfortable, though tight quarters. The outlet situation was not ideal. Outlets were only available in the common area downstairs, and they were primarily USB-A banks, some of which didn't work. Bathrooms: Showers were 6 euro for 5 minutes (we think). The showers were in the bathroom stalls, which created a bit of a traffic jam at times. Potable water: No We tried to play cards with the rifugio deck, but we ended up with an overfull deck. I think there were about 20 spades in there hahaha.

Lunch with friends after a climb to Lake Coldai. The refuge was clean, the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, and the service was quick and efficient. An excellent high-mountain refuge, well worth a stop.
