Rifugio Sonino al Coldai In Zoldo alto

INCREDIBLE HUT. HUGE dinner serving portions (to the point I felt bad for not being able to finish most of it), cheerful staff, comfortable bed. The rooms are quite tight but the mattress itself is nice. Had the best evening singing with Italians and Spaniards (they have a broken but functional guitar 😆). It's a bigger hut so lots of people to meet and great views nearby. I cheated and took a cable car up so it took just over an hour to reach the hut from Alleghe. Decent cell reception, too!

Great place to stay during trips. The rooms are nice, there is a hot shower for a fee. The bathroom facilities are also good. Half board is great. Three-course dinner plus dessert. But the breakfast could be more varied. Very nice staff.

The dining room was incredibly loud. Everyone was packed. The peaceful atmosphere we had enjoyed throughout the day was unfortunately lost. The waiter (tall, with braces) was incredibly nice and recommended a very good grappa to us at the end of the evening. He somewhat saved the whole situation. The rooms and showers are adequate. The beds (as in almost all rifugios) are quite short, maybe 1.9 meters.

Great second night stay after a tough slog up the hill - pretty incredible location. Room a tad crowded, but slept well. The staff are incredibly friendly. Alex, the waiter, welcomed all of us and kindly took our orders for the 3-course dinner. Food was ample and delicious.

My wife and I stayed one night. A private room for two people is available. The lodge was very clean. Dinner and breakfast were plentiful. The service was excellent; everyone was very kind and helpful.

Awesome rifugio with a great view. The hospitality was fantastic. Alex in particular was extremely welcoming and gracious. He was a fantastic host made the stay very memorable.

So, the bed is small and a bit rancid, but better than sleeping in a tent. However, it's also quite expensive for that level of service. Speaking of service, it's practically nonexistent. We were sitting at dinner in the evening and were the only ones not served. They were deliberately left out, for whatever reason. The waiters came to our table several times and we asked if we wanted to order, but basically nothing happened while everyone else was enjoying their food. A disgrace, if you ask me. The company drove us to the honeycomb. But it was still a nice stay 🤙🙏

We were there in July 2024. The location is great, all the staff were very friendly. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. We had a double room with a bunk bed, quite cramped but OK. What we didn't like at all: the quiet hours in the hut weren't respected; it wasn't reasonably quiet until around 11 p.m. However, the hut is generally very noisy, with very thin walls; you could hear everyone going to the bathroom, especially from the bunk bed above us. From 5 a.m. onwards, there was no quiet at all; it was very noisy, and even earplugs couldn't filter out the noise. Therefore, we started the next stage very tired.
