Rifugio San Gaspare In Spoleto

Anyone who would like to eat local specialties is in good hands here. Original Umbrian cuisine with a rustic atmosphere and pizza bread from the open charcoal oven - we liked it.

Good experience, but a bit rough getting up there because Google Maps proposed a road that took us through a very bumpy gravel road. Very nice views. Good food.

Only one person knew English, but overall a very good food experience, with a very authentic Italian atmosphere. Recommend that you order plates of food so that everyone can get a taste of everything.

Well worth the trip up the mountain - here you get an authentic dining experience with a good atmosphere. As a starter, we had oven-baked bread with wonderful cured meat. The only disappointment there was the cheese that came with it, a bit tasteless. Nice flexibility with all dishes, where we got portions with a selection of everything, suitable for sharing. Pasta as an entree, the best was a well peppered version called "angry pig" - possibly wild boar? Grilled food for the main course, prepared while you watch in the large open fireplace/grill. The house wine is a good Montefalcione, served in a carafe on the table. Unfortunately, the staff cannot speak any English, except for the grill chef, who provided impeccable service with a smile. The menu is simple but good. Selection of drinks beyond wine and beer is limited, got the impression that there was nothing but water with or without carbonation. The way up can be somewhat challenging depending on where you come from - Google maps can get you on some proper off-road routes. Runs fine, but you have to have some ice in your stomach and not have a car with poor ground clearance... Recommend booking a table, it was full during our visit on a Sunday.

Refuge restaurant located above the Martani mountains, the road is quite challenging even by car, but it's worth it. The grilled meat is truly spectacular, they have a sincere Montefalco red wine, you can feel it being homemade but very good, if you drink an extra glass you won't wake up with a headache! The pizza cooked under the grill is also a highlight. Even if you go in summer, bring a sweater!

Nice characteristic place where you can find the characteristic things of Umbria, I have known it for many years and it is a fixed stop for me. Once everything seemed more genuine and homemade, times change

Nel rifugio è possibile mangiare al calore del camino acceso e in cui vengono cucinate le pietanze proprio sotto gli occhi degli avventori: carne grigliata e torta al testo preparata sul momento, davvero deliziosa. Il personale è molto gentile, e tutta l'atmosfera è rustica e accogliente. Si mangia ciò che la cucina propone per la serata, ed è come sentirsi a casa. Buonissima anche la crema catalana da loro preparata.
