Rifugio Parafulmine In Gandino

The refuge is located at the end of the Parafulmine walk, which can be reached from Monte Farno after about a 90-minute walk. They do not accept BBQs, but traditional dishes and a refreshment point are available.

11/04/2026. A beautiful refuge, very well organised, excellent food with outdoor and indoor seating. I passed by Pizzo Formico, Monte Farno refuge from Gandino on a circular tour.

I spent the day at the Parafulmine refuge: the route to get there is doable, and the people at the refuge are truly exceptional. A special thanks to the girls at the bar who today gave me the best compliment ever: "You're on the podium for kindness." You made my day, thank you so much, you're my favorite place ❤️. We need more people like you in the world!

A truly stunning place, with a view that alone is worth the visit and makes everything even more special. Despite the endless line, the service is well-organized. The food is good, but a special mention goes to the cakes: truly amazing! Overall, a very positive experience, made even better by the breathtaking view.

A refuge with indoor and outdoor dining options. Good food, though the menu is obviously limited. Ideal for lunch if you're trekking in the area. Cash only, which can be a limiting factor if you're not informed. The view is beautiful and the food is good.

A wonderful discovery. The refuge is accessible via an easy hike, suitable for virtually everyone. The view of the Bergamo mountains is priceless. The greatest joy was lunch: generous portions, affordable prices, and above all, everything was incredibly good. Being easily accessible, it was obviously packed, so during rush hour, you have to expect a queue to eat. The staff were friendly and courteous. They don't have a POS terminal, but it's listed on the website. We'll definitely be back. The only downside isn't the refuge itself, but the access method: parking is paid, but it's best to get a ticket before starting the climb, as not all parking lots have meters, the restaurants at the summit often run out of tickets, and the info point has very limited hours.

Climbing to the Gandino Parafulmine at night is truly magical. With friends, torches, and a trail through the woods, it almost feels like a little adventure. Once you reach the top, the view of the lights in the valley makes the entire climb worthwhile. A simple but truly memorable experience.
