Sunday 25 February 2024: I set off under a snowfall that whitened the road that leads to the parking lot of Mount Farno, from here I started to climb via the agricultural-pastoral road that leads to the hut which also serves as a bar, right below the peak of Pizzo Formico. From here I always proceed in the direction of the saddle and then turn right following the sticks that help the hiker to orient himself: due to the reduced visibility it was difficult to understand where he had to go but I managed to reach the Parafulmine refuge where there was abundant fresh snow and the cutter had already done its good job in clearing snow from the square. A great job by the ski club volunteers who manage the refuge, congratulations. At the refuge I decide to stop to try at least one hot dish: very welcoming refuge and staff, always ready and well organised. I limit myself to having the lasagna, a cake and some water, then I exchange a few words with one of the girls who waits at the tables and from what I understand, if there are nice days the crowd that comes up here is normal considering that it is the The only refuge open in winter at high altitude. At 11.30 I set off again, going down the path beaten by the snowcat and snowmobile, the classic one that hikers do. The refuge can also be easily reached by families with children as the route does not present any dangers, and is also recommended for the panorama it offers as well as the nearby peak of Pizzo Formico. On the way down, I climbed up to a summit from which you have a beautiful 360° view of the entire route taken, an excellent observation point that I recommend. A piece of advice to those who use the refuge's services: ALWAYS bring cash with you, if in the refuge it is not possible to use the network connection for digital payments, first of all it is not mandatory, secondly there is not always coverage, so you cannot demand the impossible.

Per la mia esperienza di oggi 30.12.23 non posso mettere più di tre stelle, il problema è stato il servizio : da una parte fila a cassa e bar, dall'altra la cucina che consegna in meno di 5 minuto quando non hai ancora ritirato il bere. Alle 12.40 erano finiti 3 dolci su 4. Non hanno il bancomat per mancanza di linea, a 1559 mt circa. Assurdo. Con una qualsiasi SIN nazionale c'era abbastanza linea per scambio di immagini da W Prezzi nella media dei rifuggire, €10 un primo, €13 un secondo.

Rifugio bellissimo servizio ottimo mangiare di qualità....sentiero x arrivarci nn impegnativo adatto a tutti...l unica cosa se posso permettermi di consigliare che prima c'era e ora nn più...fare magari delle gabbie(kennel) x cani così che chi vuole entrare x mangiare un boccone possa avere il suo caro amico a quattro zampe al sicuro...

Vista stupenda, cibo casereccio di buona qualità e cucinato bene, prezzi onesti, servizio veloce e gentile! Ci vado spesso e mi trovo sempre benissimo!

Rifugio facile da raggiungere Circa 50 minuti dal parcheggio con poca pendenza e poca difficoltà Poca scelta di piatti, qualità buona Pizzoccheri e polenta con i funghi buoni Dolci migliorabili Buono il vino sfuso Ottimo e simpatico il servizio

Fantastica camminata in quel del monte farno… mi sono fermato a mangiare in questo bel rifugio e… wow…. Cucina casarecciA e buon vino… cosa chiedere di meglio? 👍👍
