Dopo una passeggiata in Val di Mello il giorno dopo capodanno 2024, ci siamo fermati a questo rifugio che già all'esterno è molto carino (il braciere fuori è stupendo). Dentro è molto accogliente anche se non grandissimo. Abbiamo mangiato molto bene, antipasti di salumi, piatto unico con pizzoccheri, polenta taragna e carne alla brace, spezzatino di cervo con taroz, tutto buonissimo, servizio celere e personale a nostra esperienza gentile. Consigliato!

On a planned walk from San Martino , the path was blocked by overflowing water (the river was raging). We were going to turn back, but a walker coming down said there was a really good restaurant aways up.
So, after water knee high in some places, we went so far but then turned round and entered the very clean and warm restaurant.
Taglieri (cold platter of four cheeses, three meats and garnish fruit) plus a beer did the trick before going back . Venison strips especially nice.

I'm surprised to read some reviews.
Perhaps people have not yet understood what "refuge" means and believe they will find the Hilton Palace at 1100 meters above sea level.
I can guarantee you that this place has nothing to complain about.
Go calmly, you will eat well, abundantly, and the managers are welcoming and helpful.
It's the highest refuge so you're closer to the summit, and the waterfalls, and further away from the lazy, complaining civilization.
P.S. cream donut for breakfast was the best. The pizzoccheri are excellent.
