Rifugio Lago D'Ajal In Cortina d'ampezzo

I stopped for a break and couldn't try any dish on the menu. The place is nothing short of beautiful, small but welcoming. I was welcomed by the guys who run the refuge who immediately made me feel at ease. I tasted some truly special mulled wine and paid a very honest 4.50 euros. From the menu I was able to read about very interesting dishes (at fair prices). I will definitely have the opportunity to return. Compliments.

After a nice walk in the woods immersed in nature to reach this corner of paradise we enjoyed a great lunch in this small refuge with attention to the smallest details. Young and very kind staff, attentive and quick in service. We started with an abundant mountain platter made up of typical local cured meats and cheeses which we divided into three, followed by homemade pappardelle with fantastic white venison ragù and a mouth-watering goulash. Lunch ended with a Sacher and a cake of the day, made with buckwheat and blueberry jam. Honest prices, super quality products and lots of freshness. I highly recommend this typical restaurant surrounded by nature.

Had Sunday lunch for 2, out of season. We didn't try the rooms. Very well looked after place. Benefits from the beautiful lakeside location. Very courteous staff. Not exactly exceptional dishes. Dessert definitely not recommended.
