We came across this refuge suggested by a friend, home cooking and plentiful. Friendly staff and a nice environment, typical of the place. The polenta with melted cheese was excellent, recommended!!

A beautiful Sunday morning stroll in Santa Maria Maggiore deserved to be ended with a nice lunch. The Rifugio Il Camoscio in Craveggia is worth the stop. It has a large internal room, a beautiful covered and heated veranda which allows you to have lunch in the heat in winter and a magnificent outdoor veranda excellent for the summer. The menu is rich and varied with traditional mountain dishes and the quality is excellent. Absolutely try the polenta with mixed seasonings. Friendly and efficient staff. Reservations are a must, especially on weekends…

What can I say, I saw this place born more than thirty years ago, and still if I want to feel at home pampered with a mixed polenta and quality side dishes from Sergio and his family I'm on the safe side, postcard view and location

Per più di 10 anni non siamo andati in qs ristorante perché avendo casa in zona usciamo poco a mangiare fuori. Ieri mattina ci svegliamo con la voglia di uscire a pranzo. Il ristorante è molto carino, sia il fuori che il dentro. Dentro è molto rustico, ma molto accogliente, che bello entrare vedendo il caminetto acceso. Il personale nonostante ci fosse tantissima gente era molto cortese,gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo iniziato con un ottimo antipasto di salumi misti nostrani, davvero molto buoni. Poi abbiamo mangiato polenta mista e per dolce panelatte e torta di noci. Tutto ottimo e a un prendo davvero onesto per quello che abbiamo mangiato. Una menzione alle buonissime cialdine di pane ottime! Ci torneremo sicuramente soprattutto qs estate per mangiare sulla loro bellissima terrazza.

Locale già visitato a pranzo in più occasioni, questa volta siamo di cena con raclette prenotata. L’ambiente è carino, l’atmosfera simpatica ed informale. A differenza di quanto visto in precedenza in val d’Aosta, dove ogni tavolo ha la propria attrezzatura, qui il personale gestisce i 2 attrezzi distribuendo il formaggio fuso ai vari tavoli. Le dosi sono generose e a richiesta del cliente, buona la qualità del formaggio, se devo muovere un appunto è per la varietà dei contorni, che si limitano a cipolline, fagioli e qualche zucchina grigliata. Buono il prezzo, raclette per 4, dolce, acqua e 1 bottiglia di spumante rose’ 120€. Gradito il digestivo offerto, un’ottima genziana. Per una sera diversa dal solito.
