After a morning at the fencing competitions in Sulmona we managed to enjoy an exceptional lunch, flavors that cannot be enjoyed every day, we were a little skeptical because we tried to guess without anyone advising us where to have lunch, but this time it went very well.... congratulations to the staff.... one piece of advice: keep going like this

We found ourselves staying in Sulmona taking advantage of the trip with the famous Trans-Siberian train in Abruzzo. We chose to dine at Retrogusto recommended by local people and given the excellent reviews. It is a modern place with typical cuisine and at a moderate price. Excellent choice of wines. It's a shame that there is no vegetarian dish on the menu. Thank you again for your courtesy and professionalism.

I was passing through Sulmona with my family and I thought I had come to the right typical place. Unfortunately, however, we were not satisfied with the starter, as it costs 24 euros and is really skimpy; The parmigiana, on the other hand, is excellent, with good roasted meats and potatoes.
For the first courses, however, we encountered problems: one of the owner brothers made a mistake in transcribing the order and therefore we had a completely different first course from the one requested; the other first one was ok.
The pinsa was not good: the dough was acceptable, but the sauce was raw, the buffalo mozzarella wasn't buffalo mozzarella and the raw ham was cut too thick. The desserts are good, as are the beers on tap
Therefore I would recommend the place only for some dishes; and also for the location as it is convenient being in the center.

Prezzo onesto, pagato meno di 20 bucce a capa. Ce di questi tempi

Abbiamo pranzato in questo posto dopo aver deciso di fermarci a Sulmona prima di approdare a Scanno. Nonostante l'ora tarda siamo stati accolti in maniera cordiale, serviti con celerità e professionalità e consigliati benissimo. Bel posto, molto particolare, ottimo cibo. Top carpaccio di manzo, pinsa bianca e un baccalà in tempura che merita un ritorno. Complimenti.
