The place has the typical atmosphere of a town like San Gimignano; the entire aesthetic, from the lamps to the table arrangement, is tasteful—one wouldn't expect less from a restaurant on the main street. The dishes weren't presented as well as they appear in the photographs. We ordered a selection of meats… which, while we waited, was very similar to anticuchos in Latin America but without vegetables. It was served with bread in the center, which was poorly arranged and lacked any distinguishing features compared to the bread basket. Although the different meats tasted good, they weren't enjoyable simply because the bread was soggy with grease. The same was true of the roasted vegetables; they looked more like leftovers from a stir-fry than the roasted vegetables we've had elsewhere. And the presentation was far from satisfactory. Finally, regarding the mixed salad, the sliced ​​tomatoes didn't look very appealing, and the most disappointing thing was that the dressing wasn't local, which made it even less appealing. However, as for the Chianti, nothing to complain about. Tuscany always surprises you with that, so at least in terms of the wine, nothing to complain about. The staff's helpfulness was appreciated, although, being a ristorante (a traditional Spanish restaurant), one would expect more advice on wine pairings.

We’ve been coming here every day since arriving in San Gimignano! We’ve received wonderful service and delicious meals! I especially recommend their chocolate pie dessert, which I would describe as a rich chocolate lava cake, served with a side of berries and vanilla ice cream! 10/10 recommend to everyone visiting this beautiful town:)

We ordered the tagliatelle with truffle which was very good and the pappardelle with wild boar which was equally good, as well as the second course which was also good, very kind and nice.

San Gimignano is one of those towns that seem to have stepped out of a fairytale. Its imposing medieval towers, cobblestone streets, and the view of the surrounding Tuscan hills create a unique atmosphere, where time seems to slow down. Walking around here is a immersion in history—and, of course, a great opportunity to eat well. We stopped at La Stella restaurant, right in the heart of the town, and had a pleasant experience. The space is beautiful, with a cozy vibe that matches the town's charm. The service was good, with prompt and friendly service, which is already a great start. We started with a mixed salad—simple and fresh, as expected. Next, we tried pappardelle al cinghiale (pasta with wild boar ragu), which was tasty, though nothing surprising. The bistecca was also spot-on: generously served and perfectly cooked. We washed it all down with the house wine—both the white and the red burgundy—both pleasant and light, perfect for a Tuscan dinner. Overall, La Stella offers a decent meal and a lovely atmosphere, ideal for a break while exploring this incredible city. The food was good, the service was efficient, and the surrounding scenery—well, that alone is worth the visit.
