The place was full for lunch, it's in a nice street just below Duomo, so outside the main square so the prices are much better. Pici all ragu di cinghiale (rabbit ragu) and cacio e peppe were amazing.

A gem, inconspicuously located on the side of the road in the midst of the tourist bustle of San Gimignano.
Typical Tuscan cuisine of the finest kind at extremely reasonable prices. The young waiter was friendly and welcoming and recommended a very good white wine. The game interpretations of the Tuscan dishes were impressive in terms of taste. We enjoyed the homemade pici with white rabbit ragù and the pappardelle with wild boar ragù. Highly recommended!

We had the cacio e pepe pasta and it was to die for. Might have been the best meal we had during our Italy trip. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the pepper corns gave a spicy crunch, and the cheese was pure umami. I recommend eating here at night when the day tourists are gone and the city is quiet. Absolutely amazing! I wish I could go back and have it again!

The picci cacio e pepe were simply sensational. Fresh, delicious pasta with plenty of sauce, delicious pecorino, and freshly ground pepper. Simply superb!

People are giving this a 1 star because of lack of knowledge of how service works in Italy. You need to be assertive. Wild boar pasta was fantastic. Gnocchi was definitely a different taste but also good.

Ich kann die teils negativen Kommentare nicht teilen. Wir wurden schnell, kompetent und freundlich bedient. Das Essen hat die Erwartungen absolut erfüllt. Das man etwas für das Gedeck verlangt, hat in Italien eine lange Tradition. Ausserdem verhindert es, dass jemand in einem Speiselokal einen Tisch besetzt und nur einen Tee konsumiert.

¡Grazie Mille a Julia, Ronny y Laura por 2 excelentes noches en La Stella! ¡La comida era absolutamente deliciosa! Elegí el sformato vegetal con crema de azafrán ambas noches, y fue el plato más exquisito que he disfrutado! La Pietraserena combinaba perfectamente con el esformato. Mi marido disfrutó de los espaguetis Ragu, y el vino rosso della casa y la tagliata casera también. ¡El cheesecake y el merengue eran irresistibles y simplemente maravillosos! El ambiente era relajante y encantador. Los precios eran muy razonables. Grazie mille de nuevo a Julia, Rony & Laura. Peggy
