Delicious traditional Tuscan food, good wines and very friendly service!

The gnocchi are delicious, both the ones with saffron and gorgonzola cheese and the ones with tomato pesto. Thank you.

We ordered the tagliatelle with truffle which was very good and the pappardelle with wild boar which was equally good, as well as the second course which was also good, very kind and nice.

San Gimignano is a beautiful city, steeped in history and with that unique Tuscan atmosphere. We dined at La Stella, a well-located restaurant with a lovely ambiance and good service. We ordered a mixed salad, pappardelle with wild boar sauce, and the traditional steak. Everything was good, well-served, but without any major surprises. We tried the house wine, both white and burgundy—refreshing, just right. It was worth it for the experience and the view of the city!

San Gimignano is one of those towns that seem to have stepped out of a fairytale. Its imposing medieval towers, cobblestone streets, and the view of the surrounding Tuscan hills create a unique atmosphere, where time seems to slow down. Walking around here is a immersion in history—and, of course, a great opportunity to eat well. We stopped at La Stella restaurant, right in the heart of the town, and had a pleasant experience. The space is beautiful, with a cozy vibe that matches the town's charm. The service was good, with prompt and friendly service, which is already a great start. We started with a mixed salad—simple and fresh, as expected. Next, we tried pappardelle al cinghiale (pasta with wild boar ragu), which was tasty, though nothing surprising. The bistecca was also spot-on: generously served and perfectly cooked. We washed it all down with the house wine—both the white and the red burgundy—both pleasant and light, perfect for a Tuscan dinner. Overall, La Stella offers a decent meal and a lovely atmosphere, ideal for a break while exploring this incredible city. The food was good, the service was efficient, and the surrounding scenery—well, that alone is worth the visit.

This place is a great find. The food is excellent and the service is friendly and prompt. The wild boar and rabbit fresh pasta dishes were really flavoursome. We will definitely be back for an evening meal.

A quaint restaurant on the town's main pedestrian street. Quick service, perfect for a quick bite. The pappardelle with wild boar ragù is delicious! However, the wine selection is limited, and €6 for a house Sangiovese is perhaps a bit too much. The desserts are good but a bit pricey (€7-8.50).

Ich kann die teils negativen Kommentare nicht teilen. Wir wurden schnell, kompetent und freundlich bedient. Das Essen hat die Erwartungen absolut erfüllt. Das man etwas für das Gedeck verlangt, hat in Italien eine lange Tradition. Ausserdem verhindert es, dass jemand in einem Speiselokal einen Tisch besetzt und nur einen Tee konsumiert.
