Restaurant 'I Gelsi' In Macerata

I had the mezze maniche with lamb sauce, as they used to, and finding bones in it was a bit disconcerting (but that's how it has to be). I had the plain, grilled lamb, but their grilled meat is definitely a great addition. I appreciated the crunchy bread as a hunger pang and the house red wine. The price, however, was a minus for a business lunch. I wouldn't go back. A quiet place, with an exterior that could be improved. That was my opinion; if it won the famous episode and that's why I went, there must be a reason.

A lovely experience, good food paired with a good wine, recommended by the kind and unobtrusive waiter. The menu varies based on seasonal product availability, so you'll always find different dishes. Weekdays are the best time to fully enjoy the spacious yet welcoming dining room. We opted for a first course, second course, and dessert.

We came to this restaurant because we discovered it through 4 Borghese Restaurants. The location is very beautiful, but I'm not sure why there's no winner's sticker on the door or a plaque inside. Nothing to say about the food. I was undecided about some dishes, and my choice was definitely wrong, not because they weren't good (the appetizer), but because the mulberry gnocchi I ordered from someone else and tasted were delicious. The main courses were also special: the rabbit roll and the pork carpaccio. Only the dessert: shortcrust pastry with cream and strawberries was so-so. Attentive service and fair bill. If you're in the area, it's worth a try.

Excellent food, very friendly staff, welcoming place in the middle of nature

Went for lunch with friends. Excellent ingredients but rather small portions. I had a very good fillet, but it was cooked incorrectly... unacceptable at this level. Overall, a good restaurant (but not quite what I expected). The price was a bit high.

The place could potentially be beautiful, but the outside is a bit neglected and messy. Inside, however, it's very quaint and welcoming. There are a few details that could be improved, such as locking the bathroom doors, but overall, it's a nice place. The food, however, was a bit disappointing; perhaps we arrived with too high expectations. We would have liked the Florentine steak, but unfortunately it wasn't available, even though we were the second table to order and it was Easter Sunday. We opted for the rib-eye steak, but it was very sinewy and not at all tender. As for the first courses, the lamb ragù was excellent, while the green gnocchi were rather bland. The service was adequate but very cold, the waiters lacking empathy; a little more smile wouldn't hurt. The price was a bit high due to the meat, but overall, it was fair. Let's just say they left me with little emotion.

Everything is ok, but the coffee leaves something to be desired.

We had lunch with friends after discovering this restaurant while watching an episode of Borghese. I have to say we ate really well, top-notch food, from appetizers to first courses, second courses, and desserts. The only two flaws were the burnt coffee and the changing table in the bathroom. Given the large space, I expected there to be one, especially considering families. The service was average, and the price was fair for what we ordered. Overall, an excellent restaurant.
