Go to Rasoterra and you'll feel like you're a hundred meters above the ground! ✨ Pizzeria and restaurant right in the center of Catania, near Piazza Alcalà—so convenient for parking 🚗💨 but also perfect for a nice stroll along Via Etnea 🌆💛.
Upon arrival—a few minutes early—the extremely kind staff 😄 greeted us, reserving a raised, intimate spot for us with just a few tables 💕🕯️.
After being served drinks 🥤, we began to analyze the pizzeria's extensive menu 📖✨.
Moving on to the pizzas 🍕:

• High-quality ingredients cooked according to very specific criteria 🥇

"The pizza was really good: well-leavened dough, balanced flavor, and generous toppings without being heavy. You can see that attention has been paid to the choice of ingredients and preparation. The fries, however, didn't convince me: overcooked and a bit dry, a shame because they could have rounded out the meal nicely. The prices seemed a bit high compared to average, although the quality of the pizza partly justifies them. Overall, a positive experience, but with a few things to improve."

We ordered two pizzas, one of them was too salty (Carbonara 5.0) but overall the food was delicious, the service was nice and the place was beautiful.

You have a huge selection of pizzas here, including some unusual flavors. We generally liked the pizzas, but the crust was very thin and there were quite a few burnt spots on the edges, which was a shame. The prices are also higher than other restaurants in the city. Regarding desserts: the regular tiramisu and pistachio tiramisu were highly recommended! The staff was very friendly and quick to serve, and booking in advance isn't necessary if you're there right away at 7:30 PM (otherwise, it might be a good idea).

The restaurant is located in one of Catania's most picturesque areas, at the entrance to the historic center.
The ambiance is meticulously crafted, but the music, a little too loud, makes it difficult to communicate between diners at the same table.
The food is high-quality, made with excellent, carefully prepared ingredients. Pictured are the superb chips with stracciatella and pistachio, and the pizzas with very light crusts (a little too flavorful) and delicate, flavorful toppings.
The only downside was the service, which seemed more like a forced favor than one of dedication and attention. Even upon arrival, despite several attempts to call for a reservation, they almost sat us down out of courtesy, noting that the phone was working and they hadn't received our calls. Finally, during dinner, the service was rushed and inattentive, not giving us a chance to finish the previous dish before the next one arrived; due to the speed, they even took my plate away with my fork still in hand.
We'll definitely be back because we love quality food, especially when it's so reasonably priced, but there's some wasted potential.

A modern and refined location.
The pizza, with a thick crust and light dough... For my taste, it was too thin in the center, and we drank all night... When you eat it cold, you really notice how salty the dough is.
The ingredients, although not excessive in quantity, are high quality. The only flaw is the fries! The guy kindly had them remade for the appetizer, even though we found the exact same ones on my kids' pizza. A pizza you pay €14 in a place like this should have freshly cooked fries. Unfortunately, these were pre-cooked, which is fine given the organization times of a restaurant and shortens the delivery time (I know), but these had been pre-cooked for a few days and were very dry.

We decided to try this pizzeria because it has good reviews and they mention lots of red prawns, even though it's 2026, even though it's 2025.
We had the eggplant millefeuille, a Montanara alla Norma, plain fries, and two pizzas: a Margherita with buffalo mozzarella and a Frida.
The eggplant millefeuille was good.
The Montanara, on the other hand, was very large, and the sauce was too salty.
The fries were also very salty.
The pizza was more or less good, but the dough was too chewy.
Also, a negative note was that, since the pizza was already very thin, it was also burnt and had a charcoal flavor, which was annoying.
The atmosphere was nothing special.
We also wanted to try the pasta frittatas, but they were missing, as were the arancini.
Of course, the pizza looks nice, but in the end, it was nothing special.
