Rangoli In Milano

The food was sooo good. I do want to come back! It is a bit pricey for the portions you get but oh is it good. I left filled and happy! The only thing I didn’t like was the dessert, the coconut cake. It was not your typical cake and personally it was very dry, I had to drink water to make it go down. It was also like €7 for 2 little triangles that were like 1cm tall. But the rest was so good. I had rice, lasooni naan and butter chicken. I do recommend and I will come back!

The last two reviews seen are actually repulsive. Rangoli has been a home away from home for years, and the fact that the last two reviews arrived from the same table seated behind my table, speaks volumes to two very different experiences. I’m sorry if time for food arrival exceeded what “they” are used to in India, but we are in Milan. This is a restaurant in Milan. Not one comment was made around the quality of the food, which is, in my opinion, more important. Disregard the comments of those who need to make a scene in the “big city” and have nothing of real value to offer. Rangoli forever! But, I will say the chicken was a little dry tonight. Still coming back. ❤️

Since it's on Via Solferino and decidedly more elegant than the average Milanese Indian restaurant, I expected the food to be very Europeanized. Instead, to my surprise, I have to say that among Milanese restaurants, I found it to be the one with flavors most similar to those I've tried in India (though I can't say they're the same, which is very difficult in Italy).

Food was below average. Taste was to suit Italian palate and not authentic Indian taste. Service could be better. The owner’s attitude came off a bit rude, and server was very dull which was disappointing. Might not return.

As a well-travelled Indian food lover (India, UK) I'm well versed with the cuisine and my benchmark is quite high. Last night, Rangoli delivered excellent food, with great quality and flavours. We ordered Samosas & Chicken Tikka to share as starters, then Lamb Madras, Rogan Josh and Korma, all perfectly executed. We particularly appreciated the meat tenderness and the Madras really stood out. The Garlic Naan was also cooked to perfection, was fragrant and stayed hot. As for the negatives, our server didn't was exactly give us the warm and fuzzies. He seemed a bit grumpy, didn't smile, didn't talk much. Also, the menu was considerably more succinct that the online version, with many classic dishes removed, namely the Palak Paneer, which I was hoping to order. For these two reasons, I couldn't give full marks. No fish options either. The ambiance was nice and comfortable, though I would've loved more Indian touches, like traditional copper serving bowls.

I have been going to Rangoli for many years, and it has always been consistently excellent. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food in Milan, this is definitely the place to visit. The flavors are rich, genuine, and truly reflect Indian cuisine. Over the years, I’ve often spotted Indian celebrities dining here as well, which says a lot about how popular and well-regarded this place is. If you are looking for real Indian dining experience in Milan, this is the place!

This place has a great ambience. Lot of space and nice aesthetics. The food is decent but some items are low in portions and a tad overpriced. Breads and main course items are okay, lassis are mediocre. Overall a nice and spacious place to sit and enjoy some indian food .
