Quelli de’ Coronari In Roma

This was our dinner for our second night in Italy. Everyone raves about Roman food. At all the other meals, I thought “This is really tasty, but not mind blowing.” At Quelli de’ Coronari, as soon as I took a bite of the Oxtail I said “This is it. I get it!” Oxtail was incredible. The porcini mushrooms were the best mushrooms I’ve ever had. Crisp, savory, perfectly salted. The burrata and ham starter was perfect. The house red is an amazing bargain. I will dream of this meal for years.

I was told by a local this was the best cacio e Pepe in Rome so had to try it out. It certainly delivered on that! The best food and service we had in Rome, nothing like the surrounding ‘tourist traps.’

I spent the past two weeks in Venice, Florence and Rome and meticulosity researched restaurants to try. I scoured google, The Fork, Reddit, etc to compile a list of must try's. Quelli de' Coronari was by far the best of the list. Lorenzo is fantastic and spot on with his recommendations. The fact is though that everything there is amazing. After our first night dining there, I begged them to fit me in on a Friday night and we went back. We tried many of their pastas and appetizers and everything was amazing. This is a place that really cares about the food they serve. There are plenty of mediocre restaurants in Italy, Quelli de' Coronari is not one of them.. it is exceptional. It is not pretentious, it is a warm welcoming spot that will make you feel like family and feed you an exceptional meal. During our stay, we ate at a Michelin stared restaurant (really for the view) and the entire time I was anticipating eating at Quelli de' Coronari the next night! Try their special pasta above all else and then try everything else. I'm home now and I'm sad I won't be eating there this week. To everyone at Quelli de' Coronari thank you for the exceptional meals and the welcoming treatment. Hope to visit again sooner than later.

Our fave of the trip! Perfect pasta and cheese, plus the service was amazing! Highly recommended, especially because of its closeness to the Piazza but out of the tourist area!

Wow what an amazing place! The two gentlemen that served us were absolutely phenomenal. You could tell they really cared and loved what they did. The food was absolutely wonderful and their recommendations were spot on! Not a touristy restaurant so if you want to feel like you are getting the REAL Italy experience, go here!!
