The food is average, the cappuccino is delicious! I was surprised that there are Chinese waiters (and bosses?)

Gucci Brothers, but so many non-Italian staff. Loved it. Right downtown at Cadorna Station.

Even in Milan, a city that never truly pauses, siesta still has its quiet authority.
If you miss the lunch hour, the kitchens close — and hunger becomes an afternoon ritual.
At 5 p.m., wandering through the golden light on the streets of Milan, I found only one door open: Puccia’s Brothers, a small panini bar with the scent of grilled bread and espresso in the air.
“I want a serious meal,” I said. “Not a sandwich — something real.”
The answer came with a smile and a glass of Primitivo.
A panino, doubled inside:
🥩 Prosciutto crudo di Parma
🍆 Grilled aubergine
🍅 Sun-dried tomato
🧀 Gorgonzola
🥬 Ruccola
A perfect Italian paradox — fast, but never careless. Simple, but full of depth.
That late lunch became one of those small Milanese memories that outlast entire dinners.
Just later, I learned what a lucky I was to find Puccia's brothers. I didn't even know what puccia was and how important it is to Italians, especially Puglians.
• The name “puccia” likely derives from the Latin buccellatum, a type of bread carried by Roman legionaries.
• The version specific to Salento (in Puglia) is a symbol of regional identity, combining simple ingredients (semolina, olive oil, natural leavening, stone-baked) with the idea of farcitura (filling) as creative expression.
• Historically, it was a staple for agricultural laborers and shepherds in Salento — quick to eat, sturdy in structure, and open to whatever the season produced for filling.
Flavors are my map. Culture is my destination. ✨

My family and I absolutely love this place. Everything is delicious, from breakfast to their signature paninis. The freshly squeezed orange juice is always delicious. The Premium Puccia No. 20 with brisaola is simply delicious. I recommend it to everyone.
